I dined alone 10-11am in May and sat at "the bar" outside. I was in the shade the entire time and heard birds (and some traffic) in the distance. My iced vanilla latte and stuffed biscuit were delicious! It was lovely!

We were looking for a vegetarian restaurant in Southern Illinois and this was one of the few listed. We stopped in for lunch. It’s set in an old-time storefront with a tin ceiling and period wood trim. Charming! The color scheme is warm and oil paintings by a local artist were hung on the walls. The owner was present and welcomed the guests. We enjoyed chatting with her. By design, the place exudes a relaxed vibe. We enjoyed our meal and plan to return to the Longbranch the next time we’re in Carbondale. We highly recommend it.

Best place ever! I’m not vegan or vegetarian but I drive 7hrs to visit family and eat here. EVERY TIME. Hue is Red one my life and now so does their cherry blossom lemonade. You can’t choose a wrong thing on their menu.

I love Alayna's cakes the most 💜 and the sensitive options they have for both food and desert.

Great place to stop in Carbondale! I had the Spicy Chinese Noodles with grilled vegetables, and it was delicious. Perfect amount of ginger, really tasty sauce, and the noodles were just the right texture. This place cares about food, and they do it right. Great vibe and friendly staff. Excellent coffee too - in a REAL CUP!

Didn't realize this was a vegetarian place when I arrived but the food was delicious nonetheless (I got the omelette). The chai and smoothie were also superb. The best was the people though - they immediately welcomed our toddler daughter and made us feel at home.

Food was great (we had the avocado toast, stuffed biscuit, carrot juice with all the add-ons, and the lemon olive cake). Outdoor seating had a lovely ambiance. Our server Kiersten, was lovely and friendly. We will be back! (Returned to Longbranch this morning after our initial visit ~5 months ago and now that we live in Carbondale -- we enjoyed breakfast & takeout this time! ) Just as pleased, if not more so, with this meal/purchase! Our favorite item was the freshly baked sourdough -- I know 10 dollars for a loaf is steeper than most but it was well worth it and we will surely buy again. Our breakfast of comfort bowl and burrito were both hardy, tasty, and included excellent potatoes. Their soysage is also awesome, order something with it. Finally, the pecan roll was an excellent sweet treat and we can't wait to try more food from Longbranch. We sipped Americanos this time, no complaints there either -- they have a wonderfully wide range of coffee/beverages! P.s. can we talk about the drawing on their brown bags? I love simple yet effective artistic detail like this.

LOVE the new hours! 7:30am-3pm, Wed-Sun. OK, I just had the gluten-free chocolate cake, and it's out of this world! Get it in cupcakes and cakes. The Longbranch is one of my main go to's. I love their pecan rolls, the Ninja - how can you go wrong with biscuits & gravy, two eggs and some veggies for only $12. I like to support local restaurants, especially since the pandemic. They have two of the best cooks in town, quick turnaround meals, and incredibly talented bakers! Love it!

First time. I have not tasted veggie burger before. I was pleasantly surprised. My friend is a vegetarian he also enjoyed his food. We will stop again when he visits.
