The matcha soft serve was soooo good!
Shaved ice is out of this world!!! The saved ice I’ve had throughout my life had been nasty and loaded with syrup. These are nothing like that, the shaved ice is like a snow powder texture that is almost fluffy. The flavors are delicious and they put a good amount of actual fruit in this. I got a smoothie the other day and it was delicious as well, I got berry berry smoothie
One of our favorite places for shave ice on the island! The snow here is so soft and the syrups are great. You can also add matcha soft serve to any of the items! We also got a red bean mochi.
This is second shave ice in my life, but I don’t lake it, texture is like snow
Shave ice was disappointing compared to what you get on Oahu. Just ice and a little bit of fruit and flavoring, no ice cream or beans.

Go here! Matcha-Ya has the best shave ice and so many other options ranging from smoothie bowls, ice cream, and creative drinks. I typically order guava lilikoi shave ice and highly recommend. The last few times its even been decorated with in season star fruit which is a real treat!
I loved that Matcha-Ya was super clean, the workers were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered the Acai Berry Bowl. The berries were incredible with so much flavor. The granola was fresh. My son had a fruit shake and loved it. We will definitely be stopping in again on our next vacation. This was a much healthier alternative to shaved ice.
Fresh flavors and a huge serving (almost too matcha *wink*)! Get ice cream on the bottom and the condensed milk on top. So good!

Best shave ice I've ever had! I had to ask what they did differently from the other stores. They use a Japanese ice shaver that makes it super "fluffy", who would have known! Boy does it make a huge difference!!! So fluffy and delicious 😋

Super delicious sweet treats! My wife and I got a mango and strawberry shaved ice with condensed milk on top; absolutely delicious! This was also the first restaurant/store on Kauai I have been to that was taking every safety precaution for COVID-19; we’ve been two of only a handful of people we’ve seen on the island wearing masks, so it was refreshing to go to a place that asked you to sanitize your hands before and after paying, AND all the employees were wearing masks. 10/10 would recommend!
Cute space that serves shave ice, coffee, boba, and ice cream. Got a strawberry and POG shave ice with ice cream. Very soft ice and tasty syrups. Decent price point too.
I have been on a quest in Hawaii to find the shave ice I had while an exchange student in Japan a decade ago now. This place gave me one better, something even nicer than what I had way back then. Even without the nostalgia, though, if you want a great shave ice, soft serve ice cream, or a combination of the above, I don't know if there could be a better spot in the islands for it. Thank you very much, Matcha Ya! Oh, and for bonus points, if you want to rent a bike and come here, the reward is all the sweeter.
Bubble tea was not good. Pearls were overcooked.
