Food and drinks were phenomenal here! We tried a few different things here throughout the week we were visiting and every single item was delicious. I have a gluten sensitivity and all of the items I tried were GF! They also have some vegan and vegetarian items as well. These are a must try: Açaí bowl, power bowl, surfer girl sandwich (sub for GF bread), carrot cake muffin, raspberry crumble muffin, Mac nut muffin, Maui mocha and iced mocha. Highly recommend going here!
Love the food here. My small humans love the smoothies and avocado toast. Definitely one of our favorite spots in Kauai.
Little monkey smoothie was good. Pacific passion was good. Pink dragon was just ok - a bit runny, more like a juice almost. Wife really liked the caprese sandwich, Cubano was good, but only if you really like mustard - it's heavily on there, kids liked the waffle and the grilled turkey club.
Tasty breakfast items and coffee. Ordered a toast that has both avocado and hummus. Very interesting. Place is quite small and crowded so have to take out
Echoing everyone else - Great coffee shop with solid food options. On the pricey side but prob justified since I don’t think you’ll find a better cafe than this in Kauai
Wow! At the end of our trip and this food and coffee is the best we have had on the entire island of Kauai. Make sure you visit Kapaa and hit up Java Kai. I did the Red Eye iced, and the ham + Egg Sam. My wife did the Surfer Girl with an iced vanilla latte. What do the kids say these days…. Oh yeah, BUSSIN!
Caramel blended coffee with a shot of expresso loved it…Cappuccino is also good; food, and clean environment don’t forget to get a macaroon.
one of the the best acai and sandwich we had during our trip the coffee was good as well, but the veggie sandwich was really good and acai bowl was super fresh staff is friendly, the place is super busy, great food and vibe
Quick coffee and a granola bowl with fruit. Delicious and perfect after our bike ride along the shore.

We stopped here for coffee on the way to our rental and got the MacNut Latte. It is subtly sweet, creamy and delicious! We all liked it so much we went out of our way to go back almost every day for our drink! Staff are fantastic and friendly and actually used my travel mug, unlike many places on the mainland! Do be prepared for a bit of a wait though as it is a small place and very popular.

Great coffee and a cool vibe. The Iced Mocha Maui is excellent and they have a variety of gluten-free baked goods as well!
Latte and matcha latte: really good. Avocado toast good, though pretty simple (could use a drizzle of EVOO and/or chili flakes). Definitely expensive for what you get. Vibe in cafe great but felt very touristy.
We went a couple of times for breakfast and coffee during our stay! Great place to grab something quick. The staff is friendly. The pastries are delicious. The savory breakfast options could be more elevated for the price according to me. We had better options in other places in Kauai.
Whomever is in the kitchen really cares about the food they're making. Excellent flavors. Salad with papaya dressing, dilly egg sandwich, iced shark bite drink. My partner next to me as im writing this: this is probably the best avocado toast I've ever had.

Absolute BEST coffee shop on the island. Cold Brew toddy had zero bitter aftertaste. Smoothies were fresh and fantastic and the food, especially the avocado toast, was perfect. So good it surprised me. Top it off with some pretty cool clothing items and bean coffee and excellent service. Java Kai is a must if you visit. If you live here I’m sure you already know.
Had the Macadamia Nut Latte, I'll definitely be filling up this coffee punch card before I leave!! Staff is awesome!!
Cute little cafe. Pathetic avocado toast. Ordered a Dilly egg sandwich which was great. I am seeing a few other reviews with the same feeling on avo toast. So don’t order that here unless you like bland
