Just walked out. We were seated right away, had drinks right away, then were ignored for 20 minutes. 2 other parties, inc. a party of 5, had their food before we ordered. We walked. Tried Sunday, were told 45 minute wait. Was 1.5 hours. We went elsewhere. Shame, we are good tippers who appreciate good service. We won't be back.
This Cafe is the main reason we spend our holidays at St. Simon's Island. It has atmosphere, excellent food and service. Artwork on the wall from local artists (for purchase if you want) and a great menu. Highly recommended.
Hidden gem! Hole in the wall spot that's easy to miss, but this place has the absolute best breakfast/brunch on the island...hands down! We went for the first time yesterday and it was so good that we went back again this morning. Highly recommended the "Surf Squared", blueberry pancakes, and the pimento cheese grits! My husband got steak and eggs one morning and blackened cobia with cheese grits the next morning. All were incredible! Go try it, you won't regret it!
Great food. Awful server. I appreciate not a bunch of chit chat but he walked away when a friend at the table was talking to him. Witnessed him being rude with another table that commented on his attitude. Never came by to refill drinks or check if we needed a to-go box.
First time at Palmer's. Highly recommend by other guests of the Village Inn and Pub. Well worth the short wait on a Sunday morning. Wife had the special. Pita with scrambled eggs, chopped pork loin and white cheddar cheese with special mayo. I had 1/2 stack of pancakes with bacon and sausage. If I'd known that they were the size of a dinner plate, I'd ordered a single. Rob and staff were fantastic! Definitely be back on our next time in town.
Be prepared to wait but it is so worth it. The food is fantastic! One of the best restaurants on the island, just enough to have a good selection. Always a stop when we visit.
About a half hr wait on a Sunday morning. A local told us it was worth the wait. He was 100% right. You would think breakfast is breakfast but not at Palmer's, they take it up a notch.
Had a family breakfast here recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had bacon, eggs, biscuits, steak & eggs and toast. All came out delicious and it’s easy to see why this place is highly rated. Staff was friendly and helpful, and came by and refilled coffee regularly. Overall, we had a great visit and we would come back again!
Worst customer service ever! We started off with a table for 2 and another friend wanted to join, so we asked the server if we could possible move to another table to accommodate the 3 of us, with a rude and nasty attitude, he says “I thought it was just 2”, he told we would have to go wait back outside if we wanted a table for 3. I will never recommend or patronize that place ever. Hope the owner reads this and fires the server!
Palmers Cafe is always on our list of "must" stops. Menu is excellent. Service is always the best. However, this last breakfast didn't meet our expectations. Biscuits were hard. Potatoes were very mushy. We'll go back again but will try something else from their menu
Food and service were amazing. Almost seemed like the employees wanted to be there, which is something you don't see much anymore.
All I can say is, if you want breakfast, this is the place to go. There may be a line but don't let that scare you away. It moves quickly. Reasonably priced too!
On 3-6-23 was able to dine at the establishment for breakfast and the food was good enough but the rudeness of the man in charge made the experience awful...
Our first time to eat here . Service great , no wait . The French toast was excellent, large helping .My only BUT.. very little fruit came with it . Coffee tasty. We would go back!!
Very delicious eggs benedict. Perfectly cooked. Service is excellent. Fast service. You need to go here.
The Local omlette was excellent. Not a huge portion which was nice. The grits were a little peppery, so swap for something else if you aren't a pepper fan. (Pepper the spice not peppers...) Had a bite of the French toast, excellent. I'm not a fan of pimento cheese but rumor has it that theirs is fantastic.
Great selection, delicious food, quick and friendly service. Will definitely come back.
Everyone in my party had something different and it was all delicious. I give it a 10. I have been coming to SS for 35 years and had never eaten here because of wait time. However they told us 30 to 40 minutes and we were seated in 15. Don't let the wait time scare you off. It's worth it for sure.

Insanely good food and great portion sizes at reasonable prices - this local spot feels like THE place to go when you're wanting a good, hearty breakfast. Be prepared for a little bit of a wait at peak times - but it's worth the wait for sure. My wife and I ate here over New Year's weekend in 2022. Service was great, the owner was running around and helping out and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. Definitely give the omelettes and French Toast a try!
