Zeke's Coffee of DC - Downtown

For once there’s no line at the Dupont market, and then you’re out of half and half.

We went there for a coffee and a snack to go. The service was nice and the snack delicious. The coffee on the other hand… I had an americano which tasted downright burned. I am not even sure how you would produce such a flavor if you wanted to. Just burned or scorched…

Stopped in while I was in the area, got a flat white and a breakfast sandwich. Very solid espresso, friendly staff, and incredibly great prices for DC (especially for the quality).

The service here is so underwhelming. I went yesterday and there was no line AKA it was slow. I love the zekes on rhode island ave but I came here because I was nearby. I ordered a basic coffee with oatmilk. The employee didnt add the milk so when I asked for it he wiped the rim of the opened oat milk container with his bare hand the same one he was using to ring order/collect payment (very unsanitary). Then when he did add the milk he struggled to close it as the liquid was filled to the tippy top and gave me the cup overflowing (why not put it in a bigger cup) I had to wait 5 minutes to get an extra cup as customers began to come in. Then to be cursing none stop as FOH employees amongst themselves for customer to hear is so unprofessional. I will never return to this location.

A wonderful latte, perfect temperature and great beans. So good I had two.

Server was very, very rude. Slammed my drink from me. Stared me down. Didn't greet me or anything. Requested a sweet latte, literally zero sugar. Asked for where the sugar is and I got an angry point. If I had a penny for every dirty look I got, I would have 4¢, which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened 4 times.

I went to DC for a protest and this was the closest coffeeshop within walking distance open on a Saturday! I had the chai and a vegan cookie and it was all delicious! They have a lot more vegan goodies available, as well as ground coffee. Would definitely go back!

Their espresso is definitely on a darker side. Too bitter for my liking even milky drinks like flat white have a bitter aftertaste. The staff is nice. There are few tables inside to keep you warm during winter time and a restroom for other needs.

Good spot to quickly grab coffee, not really meant to sit and do work. It’s a small space with some window seats and a small table for 2 people. They do have Wi-Fi, but with limited seating it’s not ideal. Drink wise they have the standard menu of coffee, espresso and lattes. Their specialty drink was a honey maple latte which I tried iced. It was good and a good balance of sweet. I prefer more specialty drinks on the menu to choose from but that’s just personal preference. What I ordered was satisfying and it was quick service. It’s walking distance from the White House so this is a good spot for tourists who are looking to try something local.

Really can't speak to the food, because I haven't eaten there. However, if you're a home brewer and looking for a great selection of fresh roasted beans, Zeke's is it. The Mobtown espresso has the perfect amount of natural oils and offers the dark, flavorful and crema-rich profile I look for. I'm trying a new, Mexican spiced bean this week.. And so far.. So great!

Great coffee shop. They had great specials on offer and were very kid friendly. This is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee or hot chocolate before heading to the Whitehouse. 😉👍

Thank god for this place! Fast friendly service and the best coffee we have had in DC. Such a relief to find such good coffee in a land of drip coffees!

My go-to coffee shop downtown. The staff are friendly, and the coffee drinks and food/pastries are great. They also offer online ordering that's great for a quick stop-by in the morning.
