Honestly this place treats people of color terribly. My fiance is Indian and was completely ignored by staff on multiple occasions. We've posted about this before, friends have shared similar stories, and other people of color have noted this in reviews but they are consistently deleted. We live so close and want to like it but will never come back based on the blatant racism.

I love this place and the warmth it exudes. The baked treats are incredible, prices are wonderful and the seating is great. Everytime I'm here they're giving out free treats, wine and coffees!!! So pet friendly too! Truly one of a kind and a hidden gem. (I recommend the kouign-amann)

Just a great corner market + coffee shop. The food is surprisingly good, especially the sandwiches and pastries.

Such a great find on our trip to DC! The people working here were so kind and the coffee was good. You can order inside or at a window outside. There is nice seating along the street and many other products to choose from inside, such as wine and sweet treats.

Lovely little cafe with a small, Bodega type store. It's right across the street from Lincoln Park, on the Hill. Coffee is very good, there's seating, if not, cross the street, and hang out with the Hillies in Lincoln Park! You might see someone running away from a congressional hearing.

I love everything about Wine and Butter! The staff is always welcoming and they know my coffee order. It is a pleasure to take me morning break and be served by the friendly team - thank you! (Also - great wine selection and I love the yogurt parfaits (and the yummy croissants and desserts…all the things!)

Ok I love boutique coffee shops! My favorite coffee shop Philz closed so I have been trying new ones out. So I decided to try this place. I clearly asked her for coffee with cream heated up. So she said you want the milk steamed, I said “yes.” So she hands me a large black coffee with no milk in it. I told her what I asked for and she said they are steaming the milk. In my mind, I am thinking I told you I wanted it inside the coffee but no problem, I’ll just do it myself. Then they hand me a large cup filled with steamed milk!!! And they give you the cup and it’s scorching hot with no sleeve. You have to do that yourself. For the $25 or so dollars I spent not going back. The service is subpar.

Gorgeous setting but lack of prices on groceries is dishonest. Leaves you feeling ripped off. Delicious desserts/burnt cheap coffee.

Every one in this cute little shop is super friendly and very nice! The owner is so kind, friendly, and down to earth. Seems like a fun place to work! The coffee is delicious and the pastries were fresh, buttery, and flakey. Hope to be back soon, I only wish my husband and I lived there so we wouldn't have to wait long.

Great cappuccino. Actually hot instead of lukewarm.

This was my wife and I’s favorite neighborhood coffee shop but since they way over inflated their prices, we simply aren’t going to pay $6 for a small coffee. Everything else is great - but $6 for a small americano is highway robbery.

They forgot my drink and were incredibly rude and condescending not only to me, but to the other people in line.

I’ve had pretty decent experiences here but would appreciate if they did a better job labeling prices on items. Most of their items, from pantry goods to wine, are more expensive than you’d expect. Also back in the summer on a Sunday afternoon, a friend and i stopped by to get a snack and a bottle of wine. The cashier offered us cups for the wine. We were going to sit in Lincoln Park but there was a sidewalk table available when we walked out so we sat there instead. After about 20 minutes, a dude wearing a hoodie with the hood pulled up comes from the flower shop side and tells he we can’t drink on the patio because “we don’t have a license for that” and if we didn’t leave now then the cafe would get shut down. So we packed up and left, but the cashier should tell customers this - especially when supplying cups with which to drink the wine…

Great little cafe on Capitol Hill with espresso drinks, pastries, and snacks. The manager Lulu is very gregarious and I have had many great conversations with him, I am just one of many clients that his familiar with. A homey spot.

Friendly staff, owner is a 5 star Karen that has no problem lying to investigators to cover her mistakes versus doing the right thing. Be careful bringing your dogs here, if her dog as present, as it maimed mine, without as much as an apology from the owner of the restaurant.
