Mediocre coffee and food. Nothing bad, but I wouldn't come back for anything in particular.

Some friends were in town and looking for a good breakfast spot. This was my first recommendation for a local spot, and they loved it.

Swung by during a morning walk to grab a breakfast sandwich and a latte. I ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese croissant. Was made in a timely manner, and was Very delicious! Croissant was fluffy, sausage was hot and cheese was nice and melty. Also got a latte which was served hot, the cup was full (compared to some places that give you half a cup of 'foam') and had a very good flavour! Would definitely stop by again!

The food and coffee were fine but one of the employees was very rude. My two year old accidentally spilled water and I asked for a rag to clean it up. She rolled her eyes at me and said "oh my god" before handing me paper towels. Everyone else was nice but it left a bad taste in my mouth, we will not be returning

If only there were more places like this in Capitol Hill. Breakfast burrito hits the spot and service is really great even if the food can take a while, but to be fair they do get busy (for good reason!)

My daughter (5 yrs) and I shared a yummy turkey sandwich. She had a strawberry smoothie, which she loved. And I had a cold brew. All of it was delicious! Cute little place 🤍

The Hill Cafe was in walking distance of our stay in DC. It felt like a favorite spot for a lot of locals. The food was served hot, right from the grill, and my Chorizo Burrito was very good. The Burrito shell was remarkably light and flaky. I felt the prices and portion sizes were spot on, and it was a very satisfying start to the day.

Food Quality: delicious. Everything was hot and fresh. Quantity for price: very fair. You definitely get what you paid for. Ambience: welcoming and relaxed. I had a breakfast sandwich and my girlfriend had a breakfast burrito (and an iced coffee). Both were delicious. Definitely will be returning to the cafe.

Quaint, cozy breakfast and lunch place. We were promptly greeted, order taken and then watched as our food was made to order. Delicious! Worth coming back.

Stayed at an Airbnb nearby so we went here three days in a row for breakfast before heading out for the days adventures. Small but has some seating for dine in. Local cops, remote workers, families and middle school students stop by for quick snack, breakfast, lunch or to work. Had so many juice options, smoothies, coffee, baked goods, breakfast and lunch options. We only ever tried breakfast and it was so good. The omelets are super packed full of meat and veggies. Caramel frappe is delicious (basically a dessert lol) and the people were nice. If it’s not too busy they’ll bring your food to you, but otherwise they call you up by what you ordered. Not something I’d drive out of my way to get but if I’m the neighborhood it’s definitely tasty option and they are consistent with the quality.

Can't comment on the food. Only on customer service and layout. If you're a work-from-home person seeking a brunch spot to do your work, it's mehhh. It seems dark inside and if half of the table against the wall has 4 ppl, you're gonna feel cramped. The 2 ladies behind counter didn't seem particularly warm or helpful when they realized I was both checking the menu while trying to figure if it'd be suitable to eat & work there, even though only 7 ppl were there at noon. You can give it a try but have a backup plan if these things don't suit your coworking needs.

Whenever I have time to stop in for lunch in the neighborhood, The Hill Cafe is quickly becoming my go-to spot! Yummy (and decently priced) sandwiches and coffee always give me the boost I need for the rest of my day. The staff are super nice, and I love that there's outdoor seating.
