I went in 5 minutes before closing and they still made me a delicious cappuccino. If you’re looking for a place that won’t over steam your milk, look no further!

Great early in the morning before crowds show up. Really good coffee.

Small coffee shop, I stopped in on the way to work and was greeted by an enthusiastic barista which was a very nice way to start the day. I got a chai, it was a house blend, it was pretty good. Wouldn't mind coming back here again in the future.

Cute coffee spot! Great for people watching 😂 coffee is great! I chose the house blend but they also have a nice single origin option. They personalized the latte art with my name

Nice little shop with friendly staff, nice vibes, and most importantly an excellent flat white.

Best spro in DC. Also, the honey badger is a killer espresso drink that I’ve never seen anywhere else. This place gets packed out and for good reason.

As the 4-star description says, "Yay! I'm a fan." This is a cute little coffee bar tucked away between the Shaw and U St/14th St area. It was opened in 2012 and since then, it seems to have done incredibly well for itself. As with any coffee shop, it gets crowded very quickly. There is a single couch and let me tell you, that is premium real estate. They recently opened up a lot of outdoor seating (thank goodness!), and I could definitely see myself sipping on a dirty chai in the sunshine after a nice yoga session nearby. If it's a weekday morning, I'd recommend that you get there AFTER the morning rush. 9:00am seems to be the sweet spot. Sundays are rough. As far as food and decor, this place is right on. It's got a handwritten menu in chalk on the wall -- but you can actually read this one! It's very clearly written, which I appreciate. The crowd is varied. I've seen multiple people come into this place and the baristas know their order -- such a nice touch. They have all the coffee selections you could possibly want, and great food too. The food includes a variety of flavored croissants (almond and chocolate), danishes, and bagels. Check out this place if you want to feel like a local.

Wonderful service and cardoman hot cider. I love that the cider came with a piece of toffee.

Great vibrant place to get a coffee that is probably a notch over your regular Starbucks. But forget it if you want to conduct business, place is usually crowded, with mostly community tables and very loud

Bright, energetic coffeehouse featuring pourovers, espresso drinks & loose-leaf teas.

No WiFi at a coffee shop is like no mattress in a hotel room. Ruined both the progress and impression for an important meeting. Can’t believe you charge $3 for a coffee but are too cheap to dish out internet.

I love this place. It’s right across from work, so I go often. Oat milk latte FTW!

Coffee and the patries were delicious. I wish there was more and comfortable seating. The place is good for someone coming and going. But for us who are tourists and wanted to sit and enjoy our time. This wasn't the place.

A typical over-priced corner coffee store. The staff are friendly and the coffee (at least the lattes) are very good, but you pay a hefty price. A good choice if your fine spending $5+ on a cup of coffee, but not a great value. There is limited seated inside, and when I went (late afternoon) all the seats were occupied.

Coffee is good, service is great, great design, great vibe, but the line, though moving fast, could be challenging... one personal wish would be better pastries. The stock products on display are definitely not 'best in show', though would do for a grab and go. Second personal wish would be just a bit more shade. The big glass windows are beautiful, but with a sunny day can be quite challenging to most skins.

Excellent coffee and snacks. Quick service. This is not a sit and work coffee shop, more of a grab and go place.

I've followed TCB for a while. As one of the few reputable multi roaster shops in the area, I was super pumped to have this experience. I literally selected my hotel based on its proximity to The Coffee Bar. I arrived at open for a pour over and was told by two employees (who had no drinks up and no customers) that pour overs are not made until 11am, "because they are just not ordered frequently." I understand pour overs are time consuming for staff and labor costs are a challenge, but if you're going to offer a product, offer it. If you can't afford to staff properly for your menu offerings, consider changing your menu. This is just poor management and terrible service on the part of the employees working. Tell me it will take 5 minutes. Charge me $6+. If there was a line or any amount of business, I would be so much more understanding. Don't let your customer walk out the door because the baristas are so uninterested in good service and lacking the joy to brew coffee for someone who is clearly pumped to drink it.
