Not open on Memorial Day
Oat cappuccino 6oz ($6+) - 4.75 stars Even though they use Minor Figures oat milk, which I dislike, it was the best coffee I had in DC. I'll just get the regular milk the next time.
The sandwich with habenero jam and house made English muffin was a highlight
Been there while on visiting Washington, unfortunately wasnt able to visit again, but had great coffee, i want to go back!
Nice small location with a few tables inside and more outside as well as in the atrium of the building. I had a good WiFi connection through Xfinity so I may go back to work remotely! I ordered a Tahitian Vanilla Latte in a mug. It didn't seem very large so I'm wondering if you get more by ordering to go or if it's an illusion and just deceptively small looking. I also ordered a Jammy Bacon and Egg Sandwich. Both were so good!!!
Great location, great food and great coffee! My vanilla latte was tasty - I only wish it could have been hotter. The service from the staff here is awesome - very friendly, helpful, welcoming and efficient. Great space to work as well if you don't have too many meetings (it can get a bit noisy with coffee chats) and come during a slow afternoon and the wifi is very reliable.
What a great little coffee shop! Had an excellent cup! Plus they sell Onyx coffee, a favorite brand of mine.
Excellent coffee, super nice staff and a really lovely atmosphere. In a city with an abundance of mediocre coffee, this place stands out
Great location! Consistent quality, excellent food, and unbelievable coffee!
Great pour overs. Kind staff.
I’m not normally one to write reviews, but I just love this place. I don’t live in DC but travel here once a month or so for work. I stumbled upon this place once and now make it a point to come back every time. Not only are the pastries and coffees completely delicious (along with the avo toast— so good!), but the people are just so kind. Wonderful and personalized service which is a rare treat nowadays.
Latte is so good. Salmon sandwich is good too
This is one of the best coffee shops in DC. Really impressive. Nice design. Great coffee. Friendly service.
Great coffee, love the cappuccino and iced latte. It’s correctly brewed and blended. The smoked salmon toast was also nice and tasty, all that we ordered were splendid. They have space inside, good wifi and some space outside during the warmer weather. We loved this spot.
Had the after wedding breakfast/brunch at Slipstream. The coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries were terrrific. The space indoors and out was perfect for the 50+ guests. And the staff could not have been nicer or more accomodating.
Andrew and his team are working hard, and succeding, in deliver great food and coffee. They are also going to start back up their cocktail service this summer. It is pleasure to be able to support a local company that is really working to deliver a great product.
Amazing to have this cute and super high quality coffee shop open across from my office. Downtown is starting to come back to life and this place has a nice little buzz in the late mornings. Coffee program is incredible with roasters like Onyx Roasting Lab featured. My go to is the drip, and it's always 👌🏼, but espresso and pour overs are on offer. Love the food - my go to is the Bodega, but their English muffin, breakfast sandwich, and carrot muffin with surprise cream cheese filling are all great. Will have to try the avocado toast after reading other reviews. All dining, ordering, etc is back to normal after DC Covid restrictions were lifted -- so, do you with dining in, breaking out the laptop, etc.
To survive as a local business during (and after) the pandemic, you need to innovate. Slated to open before the pandemic, Slipstream's newest and third location needed to pivot with the downtown audience suddenly gone. They slowed down and designed out the small space with the pandemic in mind. They took out a few seats to leave room for safe distancing while customers wait for their lattes. Outdoor seating is being added. Compared to its two other locations, this one is the smallest, but it fits the downtown working crowd. Located inside an office building that sits 1,000 workers, the location is central. When you walk in, you're greeted by a bright mural by Dante Marshall, an artist friend of the owner. Order your coffee drink or a food item (recommend the breakfast sandwich of sweet potato biscuit). Wait safely in a space next to the coffee bar (decorated with hanging plants) or grab a booth. The coffee itself is good and colorful cups help you determine what kind of coffee you like- floral, creamy, etc. If you like creamy, the vanilla latte is on point.
Service, coffee, and food were exceptional. Strongly recommend it.
