great pastries, good coffee, cheerful atmosphere and kind staff — what more could you want? the pistachio olive oil cake was a particular standout 😋
No reception in the store, therefore cannot use data. ALSO no public WiFi. Not a good study spot. Food is mid. Ambience is nice.
Lovely place with delicious food and gracious waitstaff. Happy they are opening a location closer to home.
Good chai latte. Seating was full. As a travel to DC, pricing is high for tea/coffee - being around $7.
Food is great but please get wifi! There’s zero cell service in the building - I can’t even send a text while there. Makes it unpleasant and impractical to visit during work hours or if you’re trying to get ahold of anyone.
Very unprofessional and unorganized. I see why this store has low ratings. I wouldn’t recommend!
We enjoy coffee and good pastries, and when we heard this French style café that does both well was coming to the neighborhood it peaked our interest. We went in with an open mind. Atmosphere: Everything green in there is fake, granted it's likely cheaper, saves on water, etc. But the artificial flora lends it self perfectly to the experience. Baked Goods: The baked goods weren't memorable, I can't even remember what we ordered that's how unremarkable they were. But there was one pastry that stood in the case, which we did not order but still laugh about today, a squished flat almond crossaint, literally it was flat, I thought this was some new kind of pastry that I had never seen or heard of, no it was just a very flat crossaint. The Coffee: The coffee they were serving was meh and from a roaster located in Brooklyn. Something else we noted was the large cracks running along the table which look like a nightmare to clean because there were so many crumbs in between. Things we liked: The staff behind the counter were friendly and welcoming, and probably the only thing I felt comforting about this place. We also liked that you can get your own bottle of water at the few self see E stations located both on the main floor and upstairs. If artifical ambiance is not your thing you could walk a block down and support the local bakery, Pluma.
The staff is very rude!! I bought pastries and before I left I asked for a bag and the cashier said I had to pay 25 cents, whaaaaat!! She didn’t even look at me at all. I told her I just bought the pastries and I showed them to her but she just left while I was talking!! she just ignored me, she pretended she didn’t hear and went to another costumer. I waited there and she just pretended I wasn’t there anymore. I had to carry the seven boxes of pastries since it seemed ridiculous to pay for a bag that had to be provided by them after spending a lot of money plus tip. I Waited almost 30 minutes just for a latte and because it was too late I had to leave and I saw they were giving preference to take out. I’m not coming back ever again!! The place looks so beautiful but with this staff the experience is terrible. Also, I gave a 10 dlls tip and after been treated this way I regret it so much!! I spent about 70 dlls. I think you should change the staff because they are going to ruin the restaurant.
Alex is amazing! He always remembers my order and my mom’s order ❤️ Fantastic service
This place is a gem and I truly recommend it!!! I really don’t understand the bad reviews. Their coffee tastes so good and many types of coffee in different countries and places, so I know what I’m talking about. Their pastries are very tasty and delicious, same is the food. So if you’re around, go give it a try. The interior is also very instagrammable. You won’t regret! ☺️
Joseph was a great Help. Food excellent and Marlin Was Amazing as well.
I had the raspberry croissant and it was both beautiful and delicious!
The WIFI PW IS welovemaman hurry before they change it lol😂.
I’ve been here twice in the past few weeks. The food is delicious and unique. I am working my way through the menu and everything is delicious with generous portions. I have tried the papas bowl, the Meredith turkey sandwich, the lavender latte, the elderflower spritz, and a variety of pastries. Service is excellent and the place is incredibly beautiful.
Amazing cookies!
This is a tough one to rate. The venue is beautiful so much light and greenery(even though it's mostly fake) it gives you a very good feel. It's a very nice place to go and hang out in the morning. The drinks were pretty good and the baked goods were good. The cooked food I had wasn't all that though, even though I just ordered potatoes.
On first impression I didn’t like walking back and forth to different doors to figure out how to enter. I waved to the employees but they just stared at me. It wasn’t until a neighbor walked me to the THIRD set of doors all the way in the back to enter the establishment. Then the neighbor said “they have you looking stupid, just to go inside” Upon entering, I really like the ambiance. Didn’t like the over price kombucha, however the quality peach-mango ice tea was refreshing (orange blossom honey)
Instagram-able cuteness, great coffee and yummy desserts. Northeast location has plenty of places to sit, usually. Georgetown location is always packed. Good prices that aren’t ridiculous. Largest downside- no wifi. And apparently at the NYC location, it’s a phone-free zone. Employees looked at me like I was crazy when I asked if they have wifi and then asked why they don’t. Great place to come pretend you’re in Europe (why are we all still obsessed with Europe in 2023?). Or chat with friends/read a book/contemplate your existence over a honey lavender latte. But go to a reasonable, American cafe if you actually want to pay for your rent as we live in a country that encourages working instead of protesting.
Great coffee and pastries!
Great experience overall. Friendly staff and no wait time, especially surprising since I went at such a busy hour. I got the smashed avocado tartine - highly recommend!
