Ordered from here on UberEats and was very pleased with the food. After reading reviews, I decided on the Tripleta, Pastelillos, and a Flan. I was not disappointed with any of the items but the Tripleta was the star -- the bread was fresh and crispy, the beef and pork was well seasoned and not over cooked, and the sweetness from the mayo ketchup perfectly balanced the savory flavors from the beef, pork, and onions. The Pastelillos were good but pretty heavy. And the flan was tasty but I wasn't a huge fan of the mango coulis topping -- it was a bit too tart for my pallette.

Average at best. I wanted to like this place because it’s the closest I found to an authentic puerto rican meal, but it’s just not executed well. The idea is there and it’s not horribly bad, it’s just not good. Plus, wayyy to expensive.

Service was great. Atmosphere was nice. Food was mixed. My wife had the chicken mofongo and she really liked it. I had the bistec encebollado and was disappointed. Description says it was strip steak but I highly doubt it was. It was very tough and mostly gristle. It was also very salty. We also had tostones and pastelillos which were good. My recommendation, stay away from the steak and you may be ok. Oh by the way, it was very expensive. I think it's overpriced for what you get.

Not authentic, more inspirational about the Puerto Rican food. Mofongo taste like a mangú. Pork belly is not carne frita, is more pork skin with fat, no meat in it. I would add that was meh, but not what was expected.

The “carne frita” (fried pork belly) was super small and mostly fat, almost no meat. That was not definitely what Latin know as “carne frita” - as stated on their menu. The bread of the sandwiches were very wet, to the point that you can’t hold it with your hands. The tostones were sweet, they were to the point to be sweet plantains (tostones manchosos). The flavor was ok. The food was prepared as requested. We didn’t had issues with the service.

Food was very good but, the service was not. I am an African American woman and the waiter kept asking my friend and I to pay as if we were going to skip out on the bill. I didn’t appreciate that as they did not treat anyone else that way. Of course we paid but we do not need to be reminded by 2 different people that we need to pay. We even went to the restroom once and our plates were being gathered as if we left when i asked the waiter where the bathroom was. I say that to say they should’ve known where i was and not have tried to clear my table. Def go for the food but watch out for the service!

La Famosa has to be one of the most underrated restaurants in DC. The food is prepared so fresh and is absolutely delicious and beautiful every time. The staff and the restaurant vibes are immaculate, reggaeton playing all day every day. The mofongo in all forms is hands down best in the city.

Very authentic and what could be better than getting some Boricua food before heading to a Nats game. The coffee es muy rico! The arroz con gandules is as good as you’ll get anywhere and los plantanos con bacalao was marvelous! Viva Puerto Rico 🇵🇷!!

First off, the food here is great. The service was OK at best and management unprofessional. The restaurant uses some app to order and pay for your food, and it seems as though nobody has had much training on it, and therefore, they can not even help their customers navigate and understand it. The app sounds like a creative idea to run business, but it was a nightmare for us. Multiple times, it reordered drinks on its own while our phones were face down and sent food to our table we never ordered, again while our phones were all face down. When brought to management's attention, instead of taking a look into the issue, he rudely shut it down, claimed that the app works, doesn't lie and if its coming to our table then we ordered it. Also, to tell the folks at my table to watch what their fingers click on. We were not asking to take anything off our bill. After all, we were there to have a good time and, at that point, had already spent over $300 here. We just wanted the issue looked into. Because of the malfunctioning app and random items ordered without our doing we just decided to checkout before my friend working on his 1st guava smash ended up with a 4th before he could finish the 1st he ordered and other 2nd and 3rd that nobody ordered. At checkout was the same issue. the app wouldn't let us pay out, wouldn't let us separate the checks even though we were told it would. In the end, we had to again ask for management, who seemed inconvenienced by his app not working for us to help so we could pay. May be ok for a couple, but be cautious if you go in a group when ordering with this app. Again, the food was great. No complaints about that.

Wonderful, friendly service. They explained how things worked, got my food to me timely, and always had a smile. Clean, modern restaurant. Nice music and vibe. 10/10 would recommend. LOVED the stew!!! I can’t wait to try all the desserts I got!

The quesito pastel was absolutely delicious. I didn’t think that a pastry could tasty so creamy. I also ate the sandwich called Mata Hambre which was very well balanced with flavor and the sauce has a nice kick of spice to it. I would recommend them both

This place is amazing. Went for a trip to DC and we came to this spot two times in a row and everything we had was absolutely delicious! They have great music, a great atmosphere and everyone was very friendly! I can’t emphasize how much I enjoyed the food and the drinks I ate. This place is a MUST!

So many things wrong about a Puerto Rican restaurant. For starters, it's so impersonal. You order your food from your phone, and almost instantly, your food will come out. A "server" brings your food and rushes away. We had two different servers do the same thing, with nasty attitudes. It was strange how fast the food came, until we realized that the food was just warmed up (and not even warmed up fully). Food was not authentic. My rice came at room temperature, not warm at all. The portions were tiny. When we asked for a cup of water, they pointed us to a fill station and told us to help ourselves, without giving eye contact. The same waiter that seemed in a rush to leave us, then walked across the restaurant and began just sitting around and chatting with the other workers. The food was cold, unseasoned, and tiny. I just can't believe I spent my money here. I never ever leave bad reviews, but I'm genuinely shocked.

Enjoyed the carne guisada and pork belly mofongo. Definitely worth a visit when in the navy yard (or when living in the neighborhood)
