Another fabulous dining option in Telluride at the historic New Sheridan. No reservations available on Open Table but I emailed from Australia and staff were very accommodating and found us a booking. Our third visit, can’t wait to get back

The filet is insane. The bread is so delicious. And the whipped potatoes and mushrooms were scrumptious. Our waiter was so helpful with picking a lovely wine. Such a great experience.

In summary: We loved the classy atmosphere, and the service was fantastic. Food was a mixed bag and the steaks were bad. The ambiance of the restaurant screams class. Easily one of the most well put together dining rooms in Telluride. Service was off the charts good as well. Our server was prompt, polite, exactly where we needed him when we needed him, but otherwise invisible. A total professional which we loved. The wine list is impressive. It trends high end, but that's to be expected at this price point. We especially were impressed with their large format collection. The food was, unfortunately, a mixed bag. The meal started on a high note with the oysters (pink moon) and mussels. Oysters were unbelievable, and the mussels had a ton of flavor in a spicy Thai broth. With no hyperbole, the steaks were terrible. We got the Prime NY Strip, and the Dry Aged Bison Ribeye. Both steaks were cooked to the right temperature (med-rare), but that's where the compliments end. On the strip, it was poorly trimmed with large sections of inedible grizzle. On the ribeye, it was a very poor cut with bad marbling and poor flavor. Both steaks were under-seasoned. Overall, very disappointing for a restaurant that bills instead as a high-end steak house. The chef needs to work harder to source higher quality meat. Until that happens, this will be a cocktail and appetizer only stop for us.

Wow! We had such an incredible dinner. The food and cocktails were amazing. We especially enjoyed the filet and the lamb chops which were cooked to perfection. Service was also fantastic. We enjoyed cocktails at the bar after dinner as well. The hotel is such a cool and historic place to visit as well. Love this place!

We were looking forward to eating at this restaurant but we were very disappointed. The food is mediocre and completely over priced. We have been to so many steakhouses that had better quality steaks for better prices.

Probably the best place to get a delicious breakfast in the town of Telluride! So far everything I’ve ever tried here has been top notch, plus they’ve got amazing coffee! The staff members are always very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is great. Always clean and quick too! I’d most definitely recommend this for anyone to try when you’re in town!

Well... after some thought about leaving a review, I'm finally going to. My wife and I came here for our 4th anniversary and enjoyed the evening for the most part, the service was mediocre at best. The food on the other hand... Let me first state, I ordered a mid-rare bison steak... mid- rare... so that I shouldn't have to worry about it being too underdone. After all, I have been a chef for 12 years and when going to a steakhouse where you spend 350 dollars on a dinner for 2, you shouldn't have to worry about if your food is cooked properly, right? Well... don't make the same assumption I did, because I was bathroom and bed ridden for 4 whole days after eating here. I will never make the mistake of eating here again, the cosmopolitan is much better and won't make you sick for a majority of your vacation, plus it's only a few blocks away (one of the perks of mountain town life). If only I would've spent my money elsewhere.

I wanted a great dining experience for my wifes and I anniversary. From the minute we walked in we were treated as if we weren't good enough to dine there. Was asked if we had reservations (Only three patrons in the entire place), I was told that we can seat you by the front door (terrible seat) but went ahead an accepted. I went to the restroom and when I came back, my wife told me that the person that waited on us asked her, are you OK with tap water (very cinically). Needless to say, we walked out. I was ready to spend $300. on dinner, but felt so talked down to that I left. I guess that since my money didn't come from a well off person, it wasn't any good. I have a lot of people ask me were I have dined and where I will dine, again needless to say, I won't recommend this place.

Service was great, food overall was good, one steak came out well done when it was ordered medium, the server apologized immediately and offered to have another made, or take it off the bill.

Stopped here towards the end of lunch on a Tuesday. We shared the French onion soup, a delicious, gooey mess that was thoroughly enjoyable. I had the turkey club which was tasty. He had the local trout salad with poached egg and spinach. We each had two glasses of wine that were very nice.

Less than impressed, stopped in for brunch. Mediocre service, received an ice tea with a fly floating in it. Kindly requested a new ice tea, server less than apologetic. Didn’t bother to even remove the item from the bill, on principle that would have been the right thing to do.
