The best bread in the valley!! Plus lots of other goodies!!
Lovely place to get some breakfast, friendly service. Just a bit too expensive in my opinion.
I was in love as soon as I walked in. The food tasted of love in every bite. The sandwiches were perfect for an amazing lunch. From the food to the atmosphere was very much relaxed and artistic. I really wish I could have tried everything on their menu. 10/10 recommend to everyone!
Horrible service most of the time, mediocre breakfast food. Great sandwiches and bread dough though. Also a great place to chill and drink coffee. Depends on what matters to you.
Really amazing food/drink, good service, and a really cool atmosphere. We chose this business to cater our wedding and we could not have been happier with the food they prepared. 6 stars if possible!
Very over priced.
Bagel was good but way too much cream cheese, even though I asked them not to put so much on. Staff was okay, but nothing award-winning.
Don't pass this shop up!!
Great service and pastries
The lack of parking & care for the public is a general concern. I myself and my son was almost hit by a car in front of this establishment just yesterday. The owner has a very successful business & needs to invest in adequate parking. The service is always a total let down here, & their food holding practices are less than sub par... I give them an honest 1 Star for absolutely outstanding bagels!
I'm so torn about this place. On one hand they make a fantastic Pizza, albeit inconsistently stocked and unavailable to buy in whole pies which is deeply irritating. The atmosphere is perfect to sit down and hang out with someone and have lunch. Their bagels infuriate me. I am a huge fan of bagels and it is hard to make me upset by one. However as someone who has worked as a pastry chef/baker... I have quite literally been screamed at in the face for putting out bagels that look the way Paonia breadworks do. They are hard little unproofed balls. Making a good bagel really is not that difficult... If you're going to have bread in your name you need to have everything dialed in that involves bread and bread like objects. These bagels are not. PS the staff seems to either be pretty friendly although clueless or still fried from acid the night before and don't know/care you're at the counter. Which I suppose is paonia in general but geez
A little pricey but overall good
Their bagels are amazing! We got some traveling through. So sad I don’t live nearby to eat them more often. Great spot to chill! They had pizzas, pastries, coffee and more!
Chris and crew make beautiful artisan breads like you would find in a Swiss or Italian bakery, and the pizza slices and quiche are beautiful for lunch. It smells great there!
So far the best food we’ve had on our road trip. Only stopped by to grab some sammies for lunch. Delicious crunchy sourdough bread, fresh ingredients, great atmosphere. Be prepared to pay with cash or check.
Had a yummy turkey sandwich here after a bike ride into town. They were closing around 1pm most days when I was there (July 2022) due to staffing shortages, so go early enough unless you know they'll be open past 1pm. I bought a loaf of sourdough bread as well that was really good. We bought another loaf before we left the area to take home with us.
We are a couple of french and we stayed few days in crawford next to paonia. We stopped by bread works at Paonia and we loved it. The bread, toast and sandwich but also cookies are very delicious. The staff was very welcoming and kind. We will come back before we leave 🤗
This is a fabulous little spot with lots of character. We stopped in for coffee and bagel sandwiches - the bagels were so fresh and delicious! The space has tables as well as comfy couches where we sat and read for a bit. The staff was friendly!
was only in Paonia a couple days . tried Paonia bread works twice.. first time we got there at 4:01 pm, and although signs said open and a lot of people were inside, was told we (8 of us) had to leave because they were closed. Went back two days later earlier in the day at 2 pm, only 5 of us this time but they were out of several things on the menu. found another place down the street that was great and will go there next time visiting Paonia.
I’m new to town and I’ve found that the staff here is extremely rude and they serve locals first. I watched them serve 3 people before me today. The locals just get in line right if front of you. This place is apparently only for locals and they have no desire to serve anyone out of their community and have no manners at all. Shame on you! I won’t be back…
