Great service and coffee. Stopped in to buy a pound of coffee as a gift for a friend. Walked out with the lb. and two excellent cups of joe. Staff was great and friendly. I’m tying their breakfast tomorrow.

Don’t even think about coming in here with a service animal! I was chased out by an older woman who demanded I leave because of my service dog. I was traveling, It was freezing outside and I needed to feed my service animal and get myself some coffee. This woman ran around from the counter and got right in my face and said my dog had to go outside. I explained he is my service animal with a vest and clearly labeled SERVICE ANIMAL, she said no outside! I informed what she was doing was against the law, I said very calmly. she still insisted, and went on and on about how so many people come into the building that are not “really service animals” I let her know and showed that he was in fact a service dog. After that I explained that refusal of service to me was illegal and discriminatory she then(not sincere in my opinion) start to apologize, “I don’t want to be accused of breaking the law” with a rude and sarcastic tone. I was so shocked by her aggressive, rude behavior I very quickly and politely left the building. She didn’t have to get in my face. My service animal and I don’t stay where we are not wanted. What’s a really sad is how often I do have to leave my dog in car for places I know will cause a problem. I try so hard to be respectful. I BELIEVE I WAS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST AND WAS REFUSED SERVICE HERE!

I’ve been here twice and both times the barista was rude for no reason at all and acted like I was annoying for ordering(2 different baristas). The lattes were mediocre and so was the quiche. The first time I was there I waited for about 35 minutes in line to order. The two stars are for the vegan pastries and the interior is nice.

Great coffee and tasty eclairs. The breakfast burrito was delicious, and the menu is affordable. Definitely one of my favorite cafés in Colorado.

The food is always great. I noticed the sandwiches are now wrapped in the cold case instead of being made in the kitchen, I thought my sandwich would not taste as good but it’s perfect! Lettuce is crispy, bread is good! My only complaint is when it gets really busy and kind of congested but that’s expected in Leadville. Overall, City on a Hill has got to have some of the best food in Leadville. Also, Vanessa was very nice and made me enjoy my experience even more!

Great spot in downtown Leadville. We took scenic route 24 from I-70 and then looped back down via 91. Gorgeous! And half way through we had coffee & delicious treats from this coffee shop. It’s on a block with lots of cute stores and restaurants. Definitely stop in and check out the cool local artwork!

Holy cow.....you MUST get their eclair!!! It's unreal! We tried to get them to rename it "Better than eclair"! Super cute local place. Great coffee, staff, Leadville apparel if needed!!

They have a vegan brownie and a vegan breakfast burrito - enough said. Their coffee and espresso is great and they have really cool Leadville and fourteener books and displays. I highly recommend this place if you're in Leadville and want coffee.

Tremendous breakfast burritos. The southwest and chorizo burritos are my go to. Hot and delicious. Spicy chai and great dark roast. A no nonsense service experience too with lots of local art and gifts if you're from out of town.

Great coffeehouse with laid back vibe and occasional solo musician. Maybe avoid on weekend winter mornings when the sole counter person might get overwhelmed with the ski crowd.

Great location, but really NOT great hot coffee, cold brew, or food. Batista was super rude about every little thing, even though everyone was being really polite to her. Honestly can't believe this place has over four stars.

I really badly wanted to like this place but I didn’t at ALL. The only thing that was decent was the coffee but even that was milky (if u like milky drinks you’ll like it) I got a burrito and it was so like tough and weird. Also the older lady working at the front was so RUDE and pushy. Like I’m not being dramatic I asked for a burrito and she cut me off and said “RED OR GREEN SALSA??” Ok???? And my friend asked for no potatoes on her burrito and got yelled at “No. Cant do that.” Because they are pre made but she could’ve just said that and not yelled

Got a basic latte with oak milk and their veggie quiche. Quiche was very good. Espresso was good but pretty basic. Super cool atmosphere. I'll be back

Typical trendy cafe with no quality. Microwaved burrito. 10$. Just walk 0.2 miles up the street to Silver Llama and get a much better meal for the same price. The fact that this place has 850 reviews and a 4.6 is beyond me. From the overpriced wooden carvings of mountains to compensate for their poor food all the way to the fact that a microwaved burrito costs as much as a cooked meal does across the street, this place has no business existing.

Stopped in to grab a quick breakfast. My husband and I both had a breakfast burrito, he has the southwestern and I had the classic. They were delicious as was the coffee. The price wasn't terrible either. The young men working the counter were friendly and patient. Would definitely recommend this establishment.

I hate that they microwave the burritos and quiches but they're still delicious. Chai was great, service was great.

My partner and I went here the morning after Thanksgiving and they were super busy. The two baristas working did an amazing job serving so many people. The blueberry muffin and flat white were our favorites of the items we tried. Nice ambiance with local art for sale and a guitarist playing. Would come again!
