Vistas from the rooftop cafe are beautiful. When we went, a youth art show was in everything except one small gallery. It sort of felt like an extraordinarily well-funded elementary school hallway. It's a neat place and I'd love to see it when it hosts exhibits by artists over the age of 10.
Super fun-roof top cafe is nice
Great place! Would love to see it become more of a local hub of innovation, art workshops, and lectures similiar to Anderson Ranch Art Center. It's a beautiful space that is underutilized.
Grwleat space, great works.
Go here if you want to be totally confused and amazed at the same time. Free entry, beautiful location, and unique art! I NEVER know what to expect when I come here (a couple of times a year). Sometimes I relate to it, sometimes I don't. Overall, it is worth the stop. It takes me 2 hours at most to walk through, and again, it is very unique. It really shows just how anything can be art if you look at it that way! They also offer a small Cafe in the summer time.
Worth checking out when in aspen. Cool events all the time. Rooftop cafe is cool.
The best and most interesting is the building itself, glass, concrete and wooden architecture, don't miss the terrace for a good look at the town and mountains or if you want to have some basic food and drinks. The art itself is a random collection of weird stuff, good for visiting before going to the airport if you have some extra time. Street parking.
Love the museum and every time its a beautiful expo
Beautifully designed building with great views of the mountains. Free to visit and had an art exhibit that was inspiring. Learned about an artist and their history from both the helpful and welcoming staff as well from the placards.
Great art and Staff! Joey was my favorite staff member, very fun to be around with amazing energy!
Im a “normal” guy from florida. This was not my taste - might be yours - I didn’t fit in here.
The building itself is an impressive piece of architecture featuring an earthy woven exterior with a interior/exterior staircase that that reaches the rooftop. Entry and coat check are free and there’s a nice cafe on the roof with a great view of the slopes.
Sadie is more than lovely, great attentive server!! Thank you. We had 2 different flavored soups - please relate that they both very bland. Almost watery , i feel bad saying this - but there are yummy spices to use. It would be more enjoyable if some more flavorings were added. Thank you!!
Good place and it's free of cost.. nice display
Wonderful art museum with an exceptionally friendly and informative staff!
The art museum is a very nice facility. The views from the top floor and outside patio are really nice and offer some great picture opps of Aspen Mtn. We didn't eat anything from the cafe. The exhibit halls were nice as well. The staff was friendly and offered insight and assistance.
Not sure how someone could be so pretentious that they’d give this gorgeous ***FREE*** museum one star. The exhibit we saw today was thought provoking and varied. The rooftop cafe was quaint and lovely. The building is architecturally marvelous. And the staff was super polite and helpful. Will definitely return on our next trip!
Suggest to only spend your spare time here in this small museum. No entry fee but be generous in your donation. Rooftop cafe is a simple eating place for coffee and pastry. We still think Starbucks make better matcha latte. Be ready to pay a little more in this cafe. For driver, street Parking is $6.20 for 2 hours.
I gave two stars because it was free or else absolutely one star. It is an expensively looking but empty bird cage (the facade). Inside more than half of it was closed due to ongoing installation. Basement had three video rooms (you have to try hard to understand what the videos are about) and an exhibit featuring one chandelier. The first floor has a really tiny room of exhibits themed “mountain time”. Step inside the stuff member’s eye will follow your every move—not his fault, there really isn’t much room for him to direct his eyes. It’s a pity —such an unusually and fancy looking place hosted so little art. I enjoyed Aspen galleries much more than this place.
Such a beautiful museum. Great staff. Also free to go in. Although, I donated $20 for me and my daughter.
