The coffee was good. Do not get the spicy California breakfast burrito however. It was a over sauced mess. Couldn’t even eat half of it.
I liked the location of this cafe; the coffee was good and tiramisu was ok.
We stopped in for a gelato on Sunday afternoon. The gelato was good and I also spent some time looking at coffee bean varieties. I was impressed by the categorizing of them and wide selection. In the end I purchased a bag of the house blend, which is really good. Looking forward to returning and working my way through the other varieties. 🍧☕
Fresh sandwich and great latte!
Good sandwiches. The tortilla chips we not very good. They were bland and without flavor. They need to find something else to substitute chips.
Beautiful atmosphere and amazing tasting coffee!
The Gelato and desserts and amazing. Sandwiches and other food is good too.
The coffee is great and reasonably priced. The food prices are insane, definitely misleading not to have prices on the menu. I bought a 14$ breakfast burrito, food and coffee for 2 costs me over 60$, that's ridiculous. I'll only ever be returning here for the coffee.
Great cafe in downtown Saratoga. We love the coffee here - strong and fresh! They've a lot of variety breakfast options and great seating place. We have been coming here regularly for over a year now.
Maybe the coffee is really good and that’s why folks love it here—I’m not sure. But the food is truly underwhelming, and expensive to boot. We ordered the “open breakfast” without cheese or toast to make it gluten free (they don’t offer GF bread). The total for two people was close to $40. The results were plastic plates, eggs that I’m fairly certain came from a carton, cold Avacado, cold tomatoes (that honestly had a fish flavor some how 🤢), cold cucumber, cold paper-thin “bacon”, and zero flavor. If you’re desperately hungry and hate money, this place is perfect! The staff are friendly and busy, so I don’t want this review to reflect poorly on them (thus 2-stars). It’s just hard to sincerely say the food was good. In truth, this is likely one of the worst meals at a restaurant we’ve had.
Family owned coffee house in the center of downtown Saratoga. Indoor and outdoor seating, nice selection of coffee and teas, incredible cakes and pastries by the slice. Staff is friendly, atmosphere is a typical coffee house (not like a chain) with town regulars.
Very nice! Fast service and good coffee
A beautiful place for a saturday coffee. They have a great coffee options (dairy/ non-dairy), good pastry options and the location makes it worth it. (Coffee cups are larger than you would imagine). Must try!
Really good food, but the wait was really long, otherwise it would be 5+ stars
The croissant breakfast sandwich is really good and so was the vanilla latte, dark roast coffee. But I was a little disappointed with the veggie sandwich, avocado toast & the blueberry lavendar latte, it lacked the flavors a little. Staff is good, ambience is nice.
This warm and tasty place wins the heart from the first sip of raspberry moka 😋
Great cup of organic coffee. Support local coffee shops! Drink less sugary coffee drinks and get to know the true flavors over the bean.
I’m a big fan of independent coffee houses and this place is high on my list of favorites. They only buy organic beans which they roast in-house in small batches. There are always three choices available by the cup including a Dark Roast and a Swiss Water Process Decaf. There’s also a large selection of the usual coffee drinks, both hot and iced, including Espresso, Cappuccino, Cafe Latte, and Mocha for chocolate lovers. But this is so much more than a coffee house. The cafe has an all-day breakfast menu, as well as sandwiches and salads. They also offer a selection of freshly made artisan quiches by the slice. Those with a sweet tooth have plenty of choices including locally made pies, cookies, cakes, gelato, and sinfully delicate pastries. Vegetarians have lots of options too. The Big Basin Cafe is located in the heart of historic downtown Saratoga and they’re open seven days a week. It’s a popular hangout for locals and can get quite crowded at lunchtime. The interior has a classic old school coffeehouse vibe. Grab a table on the patio and maybe you’ll be greeted by their very shy and adorable housecat.
Ordered avocado toast and vegetarian lasagna, both were really tasty 😋 I like how they have the Louisiana hot sauce packets. It went well with the food we got.
Staff has major attitude problems and are purposely trying to sabotage the business. Just not nice people. Acne boy rolls his eyes, yet clearly miserable and depressed. They act like making a cup of coffee is so hard, grimacing and taking their frustrations out on people. They messed up 3/4 drinks, made us wait for over 20 minutes, and completely unapologetic. This place is usually dead and the only time it looks like they have customers is because of how slow they crank out the service. Can't wait till they shut down and a Starbucks or Peet's take over.
