Beware of the coffee.. Bought a bottle at Marina Food (was not expired) and the coffee was sour and coagulated. Emailed them, and at first was responsive--but since ghosted me. BEWARE!
Not a fan of the drink I got but I’m willing to try another or two. Kind of hard to find from the street also.
They make you order through DoorDash when it is unnecessary. It wasn’t even busy when I was ordering. Coffee tastes watered down. Mediocre.
I was very excited when this place opened up a while back as I live within walking distance. Went during opening weekend and left with a tasty drink and a bucket of their mini donuts and containers of chocolate syrup and sprinkles! I remember that being a good experience, but ultimately the tucked away location had me forgetting about it since then. Tried going this morning for another bucket of mini donuts and to introduce some friends.. It was sad. They had signs on both doors stating that due to lack of cashier, they were only taking orders through Doordash or UberEats. The mini donuts were not listed at all :( We inquired about the different bánh mì options and were told that they were only serving beignets.. So unfortunately we had to drive to a different nearby cafe for breakfast.
Tucked away in a building, the coffees and Bahn Mis are really delicious. Tried the nebulae coffee and loved the creamy flavors of the coffee. The sandwiches are light and tasty. The outdoor seating area is really cute with a little water stream and trees around.
Great coffee but they charged me $40 for the coffee kit when online it only said $28….
Came to try and buy a bag of coffee. They were only doing DoorDash today. They had a sign on the storefront but no postings online about it. They had someone inside and I asked him if I could just buy a bag of coffee, which they had sitting out. But he said DoorDash only. Maybe they'll take walk-ins tomorrow.
This joint is located in the midst of office suites and in the mist of an outdoor fountain/pond which is good because I would only come here if my coworkers invited me on an obligatory coffee+exercise break. Even though they had some scrumptious sounding drinks made with espresso, I ordered the ube nebulae because I wanted to try their “signature Vietnamese robusta coffee (2x caffeine)” however it wasn’t as cracked up as your typical SJ Vietnamese coffee. It tasted watery with some powdery ube flavoring. On the bright side, it has the pretty purple layering going on, especially after you let it disintegrate. They informed me that they have decaf espresso beans when we inquired about non-caffeinated options. PSA for those who like drinking anti-matter, such as my significant other. He was going to try the decaf Oreo Dark Matter but then they realized they were out of decaf as well as two other things that weren’t relevant to us but the people behind us complained. No big deal; we found him some lightly caffeinated green Thai tea. He said it tasted like bland Jasmine tea which is fair. We also got a bucket of mini donuts. They were not the business. The only good thing about this place is the service. The workers there were super friendly and gave us an enormous amount of napkins like they already knew we were messy eaters. I think the one at the register was pretty out of it or having too much fun. When I paid in cash, she said she only had change in nickels and apologetically asked me if it was ok. I was like sure, nickels are nice thick coins. So I got 13 nickels in change. Later I realized she forgot to charge me tax. Or at least my friend who paid with card was charged tax. We sipped our drinks with their cute paper straws and all agreed they were abominable drinks! But it was still fun to try once. Since I used to live in Oakland, the other location was on my radar for awhile.
Good concept but mediocre, watery drinks! I also had a previous encounter where the worker forgot an ingredient in my drink (which was listed in the menu) and said I’m in the wrong. @orbitcoffeecompany also did a Tiktok using Kyle Rittenhouse as a “fun little joke” and muted comments instead of holding themselves accountable. There’s better cafes in San Jose!
Service: I felt like the cashier did not want to be there, it was a weird vibe being there. Food: I got a cold brew and a bahmi. The cold brew was too acidic, I couldn't drink it. When I got home, I though milk would make it better but the milk immediately curdled. The bahmi was decent. The place is a bit expensive too. Overall ok experience.
Splendid coffee
It was ok. I wish the taro latte tasted more like taro than coffee…..
Had the banh mi and the bread was stale. Quite disappointed.
Order Beignets from here. $7 for three (dark chocolate, white chocolate, hazelnut). Emerald star was creamy and tasty. Asked for less ice but still filled the cup.
Instagram ads for the Oreo inspired ‘Dark Matter’ lured me into this cafe. It’s tucked away inside a corporate building with a nice patio to enjoy coffee on. The coffee/drink itself was a massive disappointment thought. Looked better than it tasted. The price for the smaller glass was $6.5 which is steep. 2/5 for me. Won’t be returning.
Went today to try out the Ube Nebula. Never been so disappointed. It didn’t taste at all like Ube. Sadly to say I bought 2 of them for 15$ which is expensive for a subpar drink. I would’ve taken those and got my usual 10$ coffee at Starbucks never again. Don’t trust the Instagramers I came because of Littlebaker_sj hypes them up and was sadly disappointed.
Perfect place to go with kids on the weekend
Place is just ok… prices are just ridiculous expensive.. good reviews but overhyped imo.
Quiet and peaceful vibes outside the coffeeshop but the coffee & for the size of their beignets are very pricy.
The coffee is tasty, sweet and strong, but $7.50 for 16oz when most of it is ice is beyond ridiculous. Especially when it’s $4 at good Vietnamese spots. The best thing about this spot is that it’s in a nice commercial plaza where you can kick back, read, and get some work done on some outdoor tables surrounded by plants and running water
