Phenomenal coffee and drinks here. Staff is amicable and local owners are fantastic folks. Grabbed a delicious honey jalapeño latte!
Coffee was delicious, but service was mediocre. This place only accepts card, google pay or apple pay. NO CASH. The baristas didn't close the lids well on our coffees and caused it to spill all over my chest, double check your lids if you bought at this place. Cafe is small but cute.
Good place to have breakfast and coffee at downtown San Jose. Pastry is good too. Parking around on street is relatively easy to find. Overall great experience.
Really good drip coffee. Medium roasted and well made. Decent sidewalk seating area with trees and shade. Barista wasn't friendly unfortunately.
Excellent specialty coffee. Amongst the best in sj.
Good coffee in a very hip setting, good for people watching and sipping coffee with AC to beat the humidity and heat.
The drip coffee and iced latte boast smooth, aromatic, and well-balanced flavors. The pastries, freshly made daily, are simply irresistible :)
Academic coffee is a nice little downtown coffee shop, one of the few I rotate between when I ride my bike downtown on weekends. This place though has a nice thing going for it besides it's good selection of coffee, most weekends Hash n' Dash partners with them to set up shop right outside, so you can get one of their delicious hashery sandwiches with sausage and cheese and egg, and they are pretty damn good and go well with a latte (check out the photos). There is plenty of seating here, sitting inside which can sometimes be a little crowded because of the line that forms, but outside they have a nice patio and additional parking in a special area beneath a tree alongside the road. This ladder area is also where Hash n Dash is set up and will cook their fair right in front of you. The coffee shop also has plenty of pastries and they seem to have a pretty healthy selection. The baristas are always friendly and very efficient serving the customers. I personally enjoy sitting on the patio near the tree and just watching the people chat or walk by, and it is very easy for me to place my bike.
This is our local coffee shop in downtown San Jose. My favorite is the pandan cold brew! They also sell a variety of pastries as well and I usually just get a plain glazed donut which is so soft and fluffy. On some weekends, they partner with a food cart that sells breakfast sandwiches which are also really tasty!
staff is friendly and the cafe is cute with indoor and outdoor space for catching up with friends or studying. love their pandan latte! i’ve had their other flavored lattes and those are great too.
Coffee was mildly warm... Disorganized inside and out of cold brew, pastries.
Coffee and people really good here and every time I order my coffee the way I like it they drop the ball. Is shots direct into my cup too much to ask and never get?
Yummmm. Their glazed donut tasted like air. I look forward to going back and tasting some of their eclectic lattes.
So close, yet so far. I really wanted to give this the perfect five-star rating that I felt it deserved, but the service level simply wasn't there. I don't even think it was the fault of the employees themselves, it's just a cramped layout given the size and the location. The entire coffee experience was a recovery effort starting from the order. As I briefly mentioned, this coffee shop has a very small footprint in a very popular area (next to SJSU). Meaning that if you go there at the wrong time you can end up standing in line for close to 20 minutes before you even get a chance to order your coffee. That was the case for me. Ultimately, I was able to place my standard mocha order for review, but finding a place to wait for my beverage was a reminder how cramped I was. I eventually was able to get my order and immediately headed outside. Once outside, the whole experience changes, there's plenty of seating and sunshine, reminding me why I stopped by in the first place. In conclusion, the coffee was great; the pastries were great; the wait sucked. I would say that it could get better, but let's be honest, we all generally like to drink coffee at the same time, so prepare yourself when visiting.
Cortado was excellent, smooth and intense. My heart was going boom boom after and I was happy. Needs more seating inside, the space is not efficiently set up!
I really like your coffees guys 👍
Been coming here since college days. I love it. It’s such a cute shop. The coffee is amazing, I can’t go without my ice pandan latte. The baristas are really friendly. Will always be my go to shop.
I used to live right across from them. They open & close pretty quick. Lack of variety, expensive pricing, but good quantity. They run out of pastries quick. The interior is neat & exquisite with plants. Neat & clean store with good customer service. But nothing really special to write about the items. Dine in is not possible.
Its always good to get things from where they love what they are doing great experience highly recommend for coffee lovers beside the butter croissant was so frish
Stop waste: good coffee should be served in a real cup ... Not very nice to remove outside chairs and tables 25mn before closing time ...
