I had high expectations for Trust and I wad sadly disappointed. The portions were a little too small for the price and I expected the flavor to be a little better all around. We came here for dinner and don’t think we will be going back. Feel like there are other restaurants in the area with better quality food at half the price.
They serve me leftover bread probably from someones table earlier it was hard as rock! At the end of the dinner they told me they can make new one ! Because they know what they done clearly! Octopus was good! But I’m not sure about this place hygiene! So far I seen they don’t hesitate to give you leftovers!
Was very excited about this place. Made my reservation way in advance. The wait was extremely long. After waiting an hour for my food, it was not cooked to order. I ordered the steak and eggs and asked for my steak medium well. My steak came back well done and very chewy. When I brought it to my servers attention she was kind enough to ask if I wanted it taken and re-done. I said yes. She then came and said I'd have to wait about an additional 30 minutes for my food, which was unacceptable. The worst part about it is that the manager didn't even bother to come over and make ammends. Will never return to this place.
OMG!! I wish San Jose had a decent food scene. This place had my favorite breakfast! Every single thing we ordered was absolutely fabulous. I got the fried pork cutlet and really enjoyed it! The french toast was not only beautiful eye candy, it tasted amazing as well. The coffee was hot and fresh, and the staff was really attentive. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant!
We had the scallop, octopus, gnocchi and take five. The first two were our favourites. Excellent service as well :)
Came early for drinks and apps at the bar, super friendly staff and ended up staying much longer than we planned! The food was delicious and the bartenders gave us great recommendations for the area. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu in the future!
We had a great experience at this restaurant. Great food, great service; we enjoyed the pacing between courses as well (I don't think enough is said about this aspect of eating out. I hate getting everything all at once). We are looking forward to returning!
Delicious food! We got the Baby Gem salad (so good, but too heavy on the dressing), pork shoulder hash (must get), French toast, and chilaquiles (my least favorite but this came with the largest portion). My only two things about our visit was that food came very slowly and they didn’t have espresso, only cold brew. The brunch vibes are great though, the restaurant was very well lit and it’s a great spot to catch up with friends and have a good time chatting.
Very tasty brunch food. Cocktails were good but not exceptional. No avocado toast for brunch which is surprising but at least the server suggested we could get a side of avocado and add to the smoked salmon toast!
An excellent place for a cocktail and breakfast sandwich, especially a Sunday brunch atmosphere. I think the only thing that needs work are the chilaquiles, but those have no place on a menu like this anyway.
I could have rated 3 stars because I can see the potential, or perhaps I just came on a bad night. I came here for date night and was disappointed in our experience. Trust had been on my list for some months, and I had been given positive reviews from friends and coworkers. People were friendly enough at the host stand and the bar, but our server was either overwhelmed, or more concerned with other tables. However, the biggest problem was that everything was too salty. And I mean everything. From the bread, to the cauliflower, to the fritters. We shared seven dishes, and the only things you could argue were not salty were drinks and dessert. The menu was conceived fairly well, but the execution was fair to poor as there was no balance of flavors. Part of me wants to give Trust another opportunity, but for well over $100 per person I would have to see something that would indicate that my experience would be commensurate with the cost.
Wow! That's what I got for you. Anthony is outstanding at the bar. Nice outdoor space. Beautiful indoor space. Lighting inside could be lower. Amazing food and cocktails. This place is it! Visiting you much check it out!
Food and drinks here are always amazing. Coming here for years for weekend brunch or nice dinners. Really can't go wrong with this entire restaurant group (fort oak, rare society also great). Most of the dinner menu is smaller plates so each person can order 2-3 different dishes. Entrees at the bottom are much larger and can also be shared.
The food was good but not great. We had the beef tartare which was good but salty. The wood grilled cauliflower was really good. The gnocchi with duck confit was...salty, as was the grilled octopus. The food was great quality and the presentation was immaculate, the chef just needed to cut back on the salt
We stopped in here for a Virgin Mary, pancakes with fried chicken and a coffee - everything was delicious. Friendly servers too. Would definitely return!
Food and service is culinary excellence personified. I have never had a bad meal or experience here. The salad with beets was fantastic and the ribeye was delicious. One of my favorite restaurants in San Diego.
Brunch at the bar (the wait for table was a while) was absolutely delicious. We had the fried ride and burger - the trust way. Both were spectacular and the burger was next level. Staff was very friendly and had great recommendations. The ultimate sticky bun looked tasty but we didn't have room. Highly recommend!
The wood grilled cauliflower, hush puppies, & braised oxtail raviolini were quite good, as was the not-too-sweet vanilla ice cream topped peanut dessert special.
I had the wood fired octopus, salted way too much. in general the food tasted like the cook was fired recently and the managers son was filling in. not worth the price although service was very nice and the restaurant was well decorated.
While I was on vacation I was looking for a great brunch spot and Trust pulled up as one of the top. Went there it was pretty busy so I highly recommend you make a reservation. We got lucky and found a spot at the bar with full menu. We ordered steak and eggs, lox toast, French toast and cold brews. The food was incredible and service was decent but the food took forever to get. I definitely recommend the place but two things to keep in mind: make reservations and be patient because at the end the food is worth it!
