Service was fast! Matcha latté was decent! Had too much coffee earlier so I had to switch. Design of the space is gorgeous!!!

Lovely spot but it is soooo hot inside. I wish they would turn the heat down

West Beans Coffee is great! Specially the Salted Caramel! However, recently we have noticed the company has changed the recipe. We asked the barista and they told us that the company is thinking about keeping this new recipe for all the WestBeans! I would like to make clear that the original recipe is so much better! Please go back to the original recipe!!

Honestly great coffee shop in bankers hill! Luckily for me it is super close to where I work. The coffee is great! I get the iced vanilla latte or the honey cinnamon. The shop makes their own syrup which is always a plus. The best thing about this place is the staff! Former Manager Noelle was always gracious and friendly, she made an effort to establish friendships with customers. Jacob, Matt, Kirsten, Michelle, ChrisRay (to name a few; all staff are amazing!) are also always super helpful and friendly. The service is really on point here and the atmosphere is great. But coffee is def one of my favorites in San Diego. They also sell whole beans! 10/10 recommend.

Lots of seating, parking was easy (meters) and my latte was great. I usually get a stomach ache from lattes at coffee shops but I was fine with this one. As someone who works in gut health this makes me wonder if they use mold free coffee (yes most coffee unfortunately contains small amounts of mold and can exacerbate certain gut imbalances).

Cold brew was great but costs 5.50$ ?!? The ‘fancy egg toast’ literally was on a sourdough, roughly cut tomatoes & some arugula, eggs and some balsamic on top. Was it worth 7.50$? Nope. Its a nice cafe but way overpriced if you ask me.

Pretty pricey. 8 dollars for a small latte

I have been coming to this place for a while.... apparently they refuse to take dollar bills now..... at least they did when I tried paying for coffee... yet they have a tip jar out asking for tips... doesn’t make that much sense!?!? ....also their sign said they had breakfast sandwiches but the two employees that were working were not trained to make them. Bummer bc I won’t be going back there anymore. Unfortunately tried this place again and they STILL don’t have cash, they take it, but only if it’s exact change or for a tip. Who ever manages this place is not doing a great job.

Very friendly staff. Darker roasts. Maybe other users we're complaining about the coffee not belong the light, malic type acidity that burns a hole in my stomach. My gf liked the croissants. They didn't have gluten free pastries. Nice setting mixing brutalist concrete ceiling with warm wood and lights.

This review is specifically for the food. It’s just not good. I’ve tried everything on the menu and just tried the egg toast for the 2nd time and it still was no good. Guys, if you’re gonna serve food do it well with passion and intent. Otherwise why do it at all? What’s ironic is a couple years ago (pre-pandemic) the food especially the sandwiches were so awesome. Something changed though perhaps ownership or management, I don’t know but it went way downhill. As far as the rest, the coffee/drinks level is 3.5 stars. It’s not bad. The seating outside is super uncomfortable, inside is not bad. The people are all friendly and nice. But everything else is just lacking.

Imagine complimentary coffee at some strip mall mechanic. It's been festering and boiling for 12 hours. That would be close but better than this. I was curious why a nice looking place had no customers. Now I know.

A great, calm, and airy coffee shop in the heart of San Diego. The coffee is great and so is the service. A very clean and modern coffee shop also love the natural lighting.

This place is gorgeous and has such a great location. The staff is super friendly. However, I have gone a few times spread out over a few months and it just doesn’t have the quality I would hope. The food options for breakfast or lunch sandwich are fine but not great. I have gotten a different coffee each time and every time is just fine but not great. There’s just a whole lot of fine/okay. One thing that is really needed are sugar free options for the coffees. I keep hoping that upon my next return, they would have sugar free flavoring as all the coffee shops I have ever been to always have at least one. But, not here. And, it’s the closest alternative to Starbucks in the area. So, it’s got that going for them.
