I've been stuck on jury duty for 2 weeks and trying coffee shops all over this area. Portal Coffee is the clear winner! Definitely worth the walk from the courthouse ☺️

Excellent mocha with almond milk. Service is fantastic. I believe it is card only.

Good coffee, chill vibe, not too crowded on a weekday. You’ll have to order on tablets.

Latte with rose vanilla house made syrup! Nice aesthetic, friendly staff, fun music. Indoor and outdoor seating, dog-friendly for sure. Bought myself some beans too!

A worker was super rude to me, i didn’t catch his name but he had blonde hair; when I asked what could be done if my latte had too much milk in it he treated me as if I was dumb by saying he couldn’t take the milk out. I think it’s obvious to everyone how dilution works so I don’t understand why he had to trivialize my concern like that.

Love the atmosphere super dope baristas, great music playing, and delicious coffee! Butter croissant was huge. Bought 2 items for less than $10. A lot was sold out before 1pm Leave a tip for your barista :))

This is one of my favorite shops in San Diego. The staff are so nice and always seem genuinely happy to be there and serve amazing coffee. They have interesting latte flavors like orange cardamom, rose vanilla and also fresh pastries. The atmosphere is always comfy and relaxing, they always have a great playlist going and plenty of seating. I highly recommend this shop to all coffee lovers to give a try, it won’t disappoint!

Rude employees who won’t take your order or help you with it. One of the benefits to a neighborhood coffee spot is talking to the baristas and asking questions about items on the menu. The employees here make it very clear they are not interested in talking to anyone but each other.

Would love to give a 6 stars to this place: 1. love how easy it is to order on the machine 2. Love how easy to choose sugar level for flavored latte on the machine, I usually only go with regular latte because any syrup could be too sweet to me and I hate to ask for less syrup every time 3. Caramel latteI with less sugar tastes just right 4. Great view of the waterfront park from outdoor seating area 5. Espresso is superb. Well balanced flavors with a dreamy aroma 6. Pastry is surprisingly good too! I got almond croissant and it’s very flaky and crumbly with a balanced sweetness.

Great local coffee shop with interesting house made syrups and unique pastries. Even though you order at a kiosk, the barista made the extra effort to bring the coffee directly to your table. My caramel cappuccino with oat milk was perfect. The kouign amann with pear was good and not too sweet. I liked the cardimum but I'm not a fan of citrus paired with milk. The only disappointment was the prepacked locally made sugar cookie which may have been sitting on the shelf too long. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area!

Nice little spot in the midst of all the modernity! Great deck out front to take in the breeze while enjoying an excellent espresso...
