Every time I try to order the cheese danish on Uber eats it ends up getting canceled. Please remove it from the menu of its never in stock.
A nice coffee place in Downtown San Diego. Food: Some breakfast option, croisants I tried Almond Croissant which was nice. Cortado is worth trying. Service: good and friendly Atmosphere: clean and quit place. Enough seating.
Small coffee shop that has interesting flavored coffee. Being a nerd I just got a standard dark roast with 2 shots and it was STRONG. The PB Banana Honey toast was good and definitely recommend it if you like a sweet breakfast that isn’t chocolate-related. Right up the road from the San Diego Convention Center and next to the Padres’ stadium so easy walking distance from those spots.
Cute coffee shop, located right on the corner in the east village. Great ambience. The sweetest, friendly staff. This young lady was extremely outgoing and patience. It was our 1st time there. We ordered the hot cookie latte topped with a wafer and an iced vanilla latte both with extra shots of espresso. Drinks were good. Great quality coffee beans… a nice toast. Only con- all sizes come with 2 shots, so the only difference is paying for extra milk. Otherwise, positive experience. Average pricing. Next time, I’m trying to Vietnamese.
As an almost decade-long EV resident, finally going into The Hob was the best surprise! Andrea is a ray of sunshine & SASS. Just like this wonderfully, well-designed coffee shop. Of course I got an oatmilk East Village latte, SO YUM! So stoked on this place, the people, the coffee and the vibe 👏🏾
OMG 😱!!! So I was sitting here having a meeting with a client we where watching the bartista chew out every delivery driver that came through the door. It seems like they were understaffed and the lady was having a bad day. She said some very rude stuff to people and looked like she was about to have a nervous breakdown. I think it's smarter to have more people working during a padres game 🎯
RUDE!!!!! : Wow, I can't believe I heard the lady at the front counter tell a delivery driver "I hope you find a find a better job" everyone is entitled to a bad day, but I think it's very RUDE to treat people like this. Everybody has to work to feed families. I also have to blame the restaurant for this because it seemed like they were understaffed, and that's why the bartista acted like this.
Super rude lady at the front desk. I ant coming back here
There's an older white lady with short brown hair who doesn't treat delivery drivers very nicely. It took me 30 minutes to get to the store because of a padres game. Once I arrived she said she cancelled the order because she is busy and said "I hope you get a better Job than delivery driving" she was very rude and fickle. I still can't believe she said that I think it's per that needs to get a better.
Ube latte! There are so many cool drinks here, the baristas are very friendly and nice, and it’s a good place to sit down and do some work
5 stars for the coffee, 1 star for the breakfast. Well balanced and nice cappuccino and latte, unfortunately the 2 oatmeals were nothing like on the Google map picture or on the menu. Instead of steel-cut oatmeal with granola, chocolate chips, coconut flakes, walnuts and honey in a bowl we got regular oatmeal with a couple pecans thrown in served in a paper cup. Disappointing, maybe because it’s Monday?
Really like the coffee here. Tasty drinks and strong and good quality coffee. It’s convenient for me too so always a plus to have a good local coffee shop. They usually are not too crowded so I can always find a spot to sit, do a bit of work, and enjoy my drink.
Excellent coffee, but a poorly managed business. On the Monday morning I went to Hob Coffee there was only one barista working. Since the coffee shop prepares food, takes online orders, and makes coffee, it was impossible for her to keep up with the demand. It took an average of 20-30 minutes to get a drink because the barista had to do everything. Our food order (an avocado and prosciutto toast) took a hour, although she warned me that the order would likely take a half hour to make. Unfortunately , I was told this after paying for my order. There wasn’t an extraordinary line, although there were multiple food orders she had to prepare. One of our lattes was supposed to be made with whole milk, but appeared with oat milk. I didn’t want to correct the order for fear of it taking another 20 minutes to get it right. I felt sorry for the employee that got stuck with dozens of people waiting around to get their drinks. What kind of a company let’s their employee take the brunt of indignation from its customers because of inadequate staffing and planning? It occurred to me that the barista could’ve gotten stuck their by herself because someone quit or called in sick, but it seemed unfortunate for all the customers who had to wait a long time for their fix with no cavalry on the way to help. I can’t imagine that any employee would or should put up with such poor management for very long. And customers won’t return if they can’t get their orders in a reasonable amount of time, even if the food quality is very good. If you plan to visit this coffee shop in the future, make sure that there’s enough staff to get your coffee in a reasonable amount of time. Several people bailed in line because they didn’t have enough time to waste waiting around. I also thought the shop was quite dirty. Tables were not wiped off, milk containers not returned to the refrigerator, jugs of cleaning solution laying around under the sink, a dirty food prep area, and no public bathroom. The bath
The Latina barista was friendly patient and very accommodating. The Vietnamese iced coffee woke me up big time. Everyone was so chill. This place has great high vibration.
Ordered $80 worth of food and this was supposed to be a bagel with cream cheese and bacon. Paid extra for both. This is what we received. 👎🏼
Coffee was good. Food a bit overpriced for what you get. Unfortunately, everything was served in plastic – not really sustainable.
Terrific neighborhood coffee shop. The Vietnamese iced coffee was fantastic! I also ordered the avocado toast which was fantastic. The avocado was fresh and ripe. The goat cheese and pickled onion are a perfect compliment and pairing. The staff was very helpful. Nice space to do some work on my laptop. I wish I could give more stars!
Tranquil & earthy decor, wonderful customer service, great selections of deliciously unique coffees & mouth watering pastries. A MUST visit!!!
After visiting about ten coffee shops in San Diego, was glad to find this place. Really good coffee and food for breakfast.
Great coffee and warm friendly people behind the counter! Very much recommended!
