This is hands down the best coffee shop in North Park / University Heights area. Their coffee is consistently good. My go to is an oat milk cortado.
Great pour over coffee, nice staff, yummy croissants. They have compa coffee on the shelves. Nice little spot for a quick breakfast and coffee run.
Great sourcing and incredible quality coffee and snacks. They have gluten free options and the staff are really just lovely and friendly as hell. My go to spot.
The coffee at Hawthorn Coffee Shop is undoubtedly some of the best I've had. The rich aroma and smooth taste of the coffee beans make for a truly unforgettable cup of coffee. They offer a wide range of brewing methods, including pour-over and French press, so you can enjoy your coffee the way you like it. In addition to their fantastic coffee, the bagels and pastries at Hawthorn Coffee Shop are also top-notch. The bagels are perfectly chewy and come in a variety of flavors, from classic plain to everything bagels topped with seeds and spices. The pastries are equally delicious, with a wide range of options to choose from, including croissants, scones, cookies and brownies. It's clear that they take pride in their work and are passionate about providing the best possible experience for their customers. Overall, this is definitely a coffee shop that should not be missed.
My favorite coffee shop in San Diego. The owners are great folks, and the coffee is high quality and delicious. There's nothing pretentious about this shop, and it doesn't ascribe to the 2020's "sterile bright white coffee shop" aesthetic. It's welcoming and a nice place to be.
Such a hidden gem!! The brewed coffee is amazing, and this is the place I go when I need Hario V60 filters. The baristas are always so nice, and it has a surprising amount of brewing supplies for a coffee shop. Love this place!
Pastries and coffee were big hits.
Good quality coffee and their salted 🍁 latte is delicious. Not overly sweet, but just enough to compliment the coffee.
Tried them out randomly and I am so happy I did! Everybody is so friendly and seems to love what they do! They have great retail for sale (love the shirts). My vanilla latte was so rich and refreshing! The line moved very quickly. Will be back to check out their food.
Hands Down the best coffee in San Diego. The pastries are great and always fresh. The atmosphere is always buzzing and the baristas are friendly, quick, and efficient. The coffee is very modest in price for the quality. I don’t think I’ve ever waited more than a couple minutes regardless of how busy they are; and they can be busy. I always recommend Hawthorn to my friends looking for a good cup of coffee.
Nice place with cozy atmosphere, I order a Oatnog Vietnamise and it was pretty good, same with the croissant!
Listen I hate lavender idc if it’s a lavender latte smoothie ice cream etc. BUT somehow they managed to make the only lavender latte I’ve ever enjoyed PLUS their lox bagel was great and everyone is friendly! Wifi and charging outlets as well so you can work here. Great place!!
the most polite and caring staff ive ever witnessed in a coffee shop in SD. very clean establishment with great food. so happy I stumbled across this gem today. thanks guys 🤎
Closest to Australian coffee I've had in the states. Thank you guys!
Easily the best bagel I've had in San Diego!! Amazing spot, great coffee menu (syrups and drinks), great coffee, great food and wonderful staff!! Can't wait to come back :-)
Love the lattes they make, and the banana chocolate chip bread is delightful. The staff are friendly & welcoming.
Cozy place. They have pastries not on the menu.
Bagel is epic. Great coffee too.
Barista had our coffee finished before I paid. Quick service and place had fantastic fall vibes. Was one of the best coffees I’ve had too. The Best around
This is an adorable spot with delicious coffee and excellent customer service. I had an oat milk cappuccino in the morning and came back the same day to try their lavender and thyme latte … so good!
