Visiting my daughter in this area and she recommended this place for breakfast. I LOVED IT. The staff was super friendly, and both the indoor and outdoor spaces were really clean. The outdoor seating area was narrow but surprisingly really beautiful, serene, and peaceful. The Den Mother Latte, hot green tea (can't remember the exact name), and almond croissant were delicious. The wooden trays, tea pot and cup were so beautiful. I enjoyed my visit so much and can't wait to visit this place in the future!

Genteel is a beautiful coffee shop with delicious drinks! The owner, Justin, is a really nice guy who‘s done a great job with his business. The store is spotless and gorgeously set up. They serve an array of creative drinks and have some interesting snacks/nibbles. There is an outdoor seating area that runs along the side of the building, and there is also a bit of bar seating inside. I highly recommend this spot!

Exceptionally good coffee, made by baristas who know what they are doing. Highly recommend.

Great staff. It’s small so it’s a good place to have a quiet convo outside. Not the strongest wifi if you’re trying to work and no outlets outside! More of a grab and go place.

The coffee here had enough spice, milk (also non dairy options) and wasn't too sweet.

Man if I lived here, I’d probably go here everyday. This place is incredible. Their space, their merch, and their coffee is on point. I’ll definitely be back next time I visit!

My new go to coffee shop in the San Diego area. Great coffee and baked goods and the staff is friendly as well. Indoor seating is limited but they also have a few tables outside.

I witness the absolute precision that goes into making a cup of coffee here. That explains why their coffee is so good. My cappuccino was perfect.

Both matcha and latte were smooth and perfect! Please note that there are few indoor seats, which usually isn't a problem as there is outdoor seating as well, just it happened to be raining the day I was there.

They have Chagaccino 👌🏻 A mix of mushrooms, chai, chocolate, monk fruit. Love it with oat milk.

Very cute and welcoming coffee shop! Amazing coffee, got a cappuccino, and the other latte (which I’m forgetting the name, but had cardamom, cinnamon and orange!). Baristas we’re very nice and welcoming. Note: there isn’t much indoor/outdoor seating, and parking is limited. Definitely delicious coffee!

One of the best specialty coffee spots in North Park, hands down. The shop’s large front windows and ample plants welcomed me in the first time… and I’m so glad they did. Now, it’s a regular San Diego stop for me. The baristas are genuinely kind and friendly (no coffee snobs here), and their menu has some one-of-a-kind brews that will give you that perfectly complex flavor experience. I still crave their Foxtrot Latte (think cardamom, cinnamon, and orange extract meets espresso goodness). Good to Knows… - If you’re planning to work or study, there are a handful of spaces indoors but they maximize seating outdoors in their private alleyway (lined with beautiful plants). Don’t think there are many outlets, but good for writing / art, talking, etc. - Parking is limited to street parking, so just plan to walk a block or so!
