We went to Chiefy Cafe in the Gaslamp for a quick brunch and were not disappointed. I got the In the Nude Bowl which comes with: bananas, avocado, spirulina, chia seeds, almond milk, topped with granola, coconut flakes, banana, and almond butter - I wasn’t in love with the spirulina but there’s other vegan options on the menu that I could see myself going back for. It’s a cute, small, no frills cafe with a little bit of indoor and outdoor seating. There’s also a cute mural to take photos with which I enjoyed. Definitely recommend a visit!

Great espresso place. Had an espresso and a smoothie - both were excellent. Enjoyed the smoothie while I went for a long walk to Balboa Park. Highly recommended!

Cute breakfast spot in Downtown San Diego. The coffee, breakfast sandos, and atmosphere are stellar. The owner is very nice and keeps a clean, organized cafe. Would highly recommend if staying downtown or add to your local spot.

Love this place! It’s the perfect low-key neighborhood coffee shop- the staff are great, their coffee and food is on point, and they’re super dog friendly (in fact, at this point I’m pretty sure if my dog ever escaped I’d find him here begging for a treat from the baristas).

The cafe looks really cute and cozy! A lot of seating outside. Delicious coffee and breakfast sandwiches! I've gone back twice during my visit to San Diego.

Meh, expensive coffee with artificial flavoring. Not very good for the price.

OMG this place is so yummy! I’m gluten free and to be able to get a GF waffle was amazing- and it was so good! I also got their oatmeal and a smoothie and everything was awesome. I live up the street and will definitely be making this place one of my regular spots.

Best açaí bowl I have ever had. Viennese coffee was awesome as well. The line was long and only one person was working. He still was able to handle the crowd and make every order with detail.

Told the person clearly dairy allergy and no cheese on sandwich. Was a to go order and I opened the bagel and didn’t see the cheese at first. When I was on the road and went to eat it, realized there was melted cheese on the top bagel. Couldn’t eat my food and didn’t even drink my latte because at that point I couldn’t trust that they didn’t put 2% milk instead of almond. Super bad dairy allergy so this is not something I can play with. Never again

I ordered the regular waffles and they tasted like they used spoiled milk. It was disgusting so they either were using expired milk or the mix was sitting outside for a long time. There were very unprofessional on how they reacted when I told them about it and didn't even bother apologizing. Beware before you eat it and go to figs so much better

Ableist, discriminator and rude customer service from the cashier. I moved to the building above the café, and I thought to check the cafe out. I ordered via Ubereats for pick-up and when the app said my order was ready, I came into the cafe and showed the cashier my phone screen typed up my order and my name. (I’m Deaf.) She looked at the phone and then talked to the next person in the line? I waited. I watched her talking to a couple of customers, and then I tried to interrupt politely, asking about my order. She wrote me this note telling me that my order didn’t come through, and then ignored me once again as she proceeded to prioritize hearing customers over Deaf Disabled customers. That is disgusting and disgraceful. I spoke to the manager, and she apologized as if that will make up for what I just experienced: ableism and discrimination. This cafe lost a customer.
