Definitely an interesting little shop / unique and more importantly it’s not a Starbucks. Coffee is good and well made. Some interesting drinks choices - the Ube latte is fantastic. Food is good. However, my biggest thing is that the place is a bit overpriced - a breakfast Brito was $13… it’s just not that good
If you want to try one of the best lattes - this is the place. The latte was so foamy, aromatic and rich. I asked them to sprinkle some cardomom and that just enhanced the coffee flavor for me. I have tried the latte in other locations of coffeebar as well, this location is the best so far.
Their coffee is good, but after visiting a few times, a trend I've noticed is that the staff makes me feel unwelcomed. While I'm taking a quick moment to decide what I want, I get the impression that my indecisiveness is annoying and there's no help (the barista stepped away to tidy the pastries). While I'm waiting for my drink, especially if I'm at an outside table or far from the pickup counter, I can't hear my name being called. When I go up and check, the baristas again seem to be annoyed at me checking to see if my drink is ready. This review unfortunately makes me sound like a boomer (lol), but I've worked as a barista for many years throughout college and grad school, and these baristas act so inhospitably and are nearly a 180-degree difference of the type of kind and welcoming barista I always strived to be. I guess I can overlook it though, for the good coffee.
Great coffee shop with Wi-Fi. Can sit outside under a nice tree when the weather is nice. Which is most of the year in Redwood City!
Good lavender latte. Prices are high.
Excellent coffee in a pretty cool building.
excellent vanilla latte and cinnamon roll. nice vibes on a saturday morning.
So sad to see the quality of the service to go down and the prices go up. Their covid crew was the best. I guess this what happens with a lot of business after a while. This was my daily coffee place for 2+ years. Please bring back good customer service when they ask what size capuchino you want before assuming you want the biggest possible option and better baristas who don’t burn the milk.
Terrible service. When I go to coffee shops I usually get greed with a " HI or welcome how can we help you today." At CoffeeBar Downtown Redwood City when I said HI, to the cashier she simply said I'm busy and so I thought I may have not listen right so I said pardon and she said again busy while looking down didn't even make eye contact with me. I simply walked out. There's no way I'll ever be back
Great cafe with not just coffee options and makes for a place to hang out even in the later part of the day. Liked the ambience and decor. It’s also in a great location with ample seating both indoor and outdoor. We chose to go with some wine but couldn’t find any details on their selection - was either new or needs to be included in their menu. It felt a little overpriced without that info. Didn’t have coffee and plan to go there for it next time.
They serve the best latte I've ever had, bar none! I also got their tomato soup and grilled cheese. Both are outstanding. The soup is flavorful with a bit of a kick and the crusty bread for the grilled cheese is wonderful. What a nice coffee bar! This was my first time but it won't be my last!
Very unique interior. The street access is closed to vehicles so park on other street and walk to Broadway. At first, we missed it because the shop name is only printed at the glass door. Service is good. Our latte is good, the avocado toast is yummy and the savory scone is very unique. It is considered soft. The skull on the wall is very unique. I noticed you can bring your cup. The restroom is also clean and the door lock is unique. I even took 📸 of it.
My go-to cappuccino in Redwood City! Reliable and delicious. Pastries are also great. Drink prices don’t include taxes - a double shot cappuccino costs 6.15 after tax which is steep, even for the area. They usually have some funky art on the walls for sale too!
Coffeebar in Redwood City is a great spot, inside the pedestrian zone downtown on Broadway so lots of outdoor cafe seating. I ordered a pour-over cup of Vertical Reserve - Gorilla Summit which brought out the nuanced flavor of the Ugandan beans without the too much of the sour and 'cattail' notes so common with super light roasts common with some other premium coffee roasters.
The coffee itself is great! I have been a fan for a long time. The quality of their cappuccino has really gone downhill in the last several months. The cappuccinos really aren’t what they used to be, unfortunately.
Was so happy to discover this place with great cappuccino , matcha and avocado toast, but lately the coffee isn’t as good as before especially Americano !! Very watery!! Sign of old coffee beans or not well trained barista ??
Definitely my favorite coffee spot around with great food too.
Coffee is excellent, as are most breakfast items (especially the oats).
I ordered a vegetarian Burrito. The flavor was good, the filling inside was so nutritious and tasty. However, I think it’s kinda pricy. It’s about $13 for this, and it’s not as big as the price you think you would get.
Two drip coffees and a pastry to go. Drip coffee was fresh and beans were a tasty roast. Will return for a coffee and wine date for sure.
