We have been to the Monterey location and loved it! Had to try this spot, it was equally as amazing. The staff is so friendly and the atmosphere is incredible!
Coffee and drinks were good however customer service was not so pleasant this evening. Owners please check in with your staff … Went in before closing and the 2 employees there did not greet or say anything when we approached the front counter. When the drinks were done the employee didn’t bother to catch Our attention just gave us uncomfortable stares. Our previous experiences here have always been positive.
Get specialty coffee drink in a cute little store. Drink was great not too sweet but very tasty.
Tiny shop but absolutely the best coffee in Pacific Grove! Artfully crafted espresso, Parker-Lusseau pastries, and treats for your four legged friend. Much love!
Coffees are great. Mochas too. I love the small size of this shop. Felt it would be fair to share this experience: and this is not about the business per se or the quality of the coffee, it is about an employee. Came there every day for a few weeks around august 2022. Thanked a barista, who sported a deep resonant male voice and mask, for my beverage by saying “thank you sir,” to which he replied, in an entitled, arrogant and condescending manner, “thank you mam.” I thought he was addressing me as a sarcastic joke, but I immediately apologized almost as a reflex. Given that he did not respond to my apology I walked out. I was embarrassed, which immediately changed to humiliation. I was outside the coffee shop feeling like I’d just been slapped in the face, as a response to giving a store my business. I should’ve said “excuse me?” And called that person on their effrontery immediately. You can do woke culture anytime you want, but not in a public facing business. This is not the way to show appreciation for the people who make your salary possible in the first place by spending their hard earned dollars in your shop. Secondly, if you insist on vocalizing your ideas about your gender, do it in a respectful manner. Update: I received a reply by business owner pretty instantly after posting this review. I cannot tell whether that reply is publicly viewable. Business says that this employee was let go about a month ago. That’s good news, and also interesting that this person managed to work there for another 6 months after my experience. I appreciate the business taking care of this, and there are no hard feelings from my end. Thank you.
Mocha not what you think it should be. Pricy place. Being trendy and hip doesn't make up for bad coffee.
Great coffee, knowledgeable and nice staff! I had a flat white and got some beans to-go. The flat white was delicious, best espresso drinks in the area by far! The staff was willing to chat with me about brewing tips for the beans I bought as well which I used this morning and really liked the brew. Highly recommend if you're looking for a high quality cup!
Great coffee. Cool little shop.
This place had no time for my order as 3 employees were too busy talking nonsense amongst themselves. So I can comment on food quality but service & atmosphere get a minus 3
This establishment allows non service animals inside which is very unsanitary and unsafe. A woman brought her dog in and it was barking, growling, and acting aggressive towards customers and the baristas did nothing. There are also dog treats inside the store on the counter table where people put their drinks. It's a shame because I really like the coffee here and have been a longtime customer.
Cute neighborhood coffee shop. Friendly staff and delicious coffee!
Nice place. Much better than the other coffee shop in town.
Nice little coffee spot on the corner of Lighthouse and Forest in Downtown Pacific Grove. Single origin drip roast was delicious and the wife loved her house latte with brown sugar.
Stopped by randomly because I liked the name and I am really glad that I did. Delicious Flat White! Americano is good and so is the 1in1. Also tried their Cinnamon Sugar Toast and PB & Banana Toast. Both are delish! I love that they used thick slices of toast. Highly recommend you check this place out. Staff is also super friendly and the atmosphere is inviting and open. They have two locations, one is larger open-air / garage style feel with more seating and the other location is a quick stop style / standing room only.
Found this spot via Google search while we were visiting town for about 24 hours. Nice staff, good coffee. It also features a "macadamia milk" option, which is the favorite milk alternative of my boyfriend. Hope to return again someday!
Not open at 634 am place is dark- don't advertise 630 when your not going to be there. I drove to try the coffee. Not this time
The best coffee EVER! Amazing baristas and super friendly staff! I can not recommend Captain + Stoker enough!
Amazing coffee. Awesome employees/baristas. Pastries were perfection. What more could you want in a coffee shop?
Captain + Stoker is an awesome addition to downtown PG. This is a grab and go spot with great coffee and a few light bites if you are interested. They are super friendly and more than happy to talk shop before you order. Can’t go wrong with anything here.
Great spot. Had a small drip coffee. Their roast was good. They had a variety of coffee and tea drinks and some pastries. Will definitely come back again.
