This place is a vibe - it’s only a matter of time before this place is rediscovered.
Delightful atmosphere, beautiful patio, and the food was GOOD! LGBTQ+ friendly. Definitely recommend! :)
Amazing coffee. Friendly, and great ambiance. Cozy, affordable, classy, and quality through the roof. This place is a well kept local favorite. With great reason.
Really bucks the big corporate coffee shops with their own original drinks.
It was a very comfortable environment. Quiet and peaceful. A very nice and accepting vibe, warm and welcoming. I had gotten an African Queen and a royal dip. Both were very delicious, in fact it was the best coffee I've had, By that I mean I actually enjoyed it for it's full depth of flavor and aroma. It was even the best french dip sandwich I've had, and I like to think of myself to be a good chef and have made french dip before, but never thought to put swiss cheese, onions, and mushrooms on it. The prices were also pretty decent so someone like me who doesn't usually have a lot of money felt ok spending what I had on food there.
I HATED this restaurant. I love trying new places and the reviews seemed nice enough. Whole other story when you actually eat there. The place smelled like old people in the worst way possible, our sandwiches were cold and tasteless (unlike the photos in reviews). And the actual place was dirty and old. I tipped a lot and paid 10 dollars for a sandwich smaller than a chicken thigh at el Pollo Loco and despite them putting so much sht in the sandwiches they didn’t taste like anything. Everyone around us (white people) got pretty sandwiches toasted and fresh while we got last week’s left overs. Girl bye.
it’s isn’t even funny how overpriced and disgusting this place is. horrible customer service.
NEVER going back to this place. I’m pretty sure they’re racist because our coffee and sandwiches looked nothing like everyone else’s. They gave our sandwiches cold when they are supposed to be toasted and don’t let you know when your food is ready. The best part was the costco muffins.🤣 Paid 10 dollar alone for a small cold sandwich. Don’t come if you’re mexican LOL
What a delightful place to hang out! The atmosphere was so homey! There were a variety of flavors to choose from for our drinks! I think the only thing missing was a smile, but it happens to all of us I guess.
Coffee was in point! Breakfast sandwich was bigger than expected and all priced appropriately. Quaint old home with wooden floors and kind of a Mardi gras theme... plenty cozy spots indoors and patio outdoors
I rode my bike from MJC West and stopped at the Queen Bean. I had exotic coffee and sat in the patio. That is a very quiet seating area and rather romantic with wood deck, potted plants everywhere, and a large tree canopy above you. I ordered the classic egg bowl and must say it’s hot, delightful and too much food. Warmed by the “Geneva” coffee and hot breakfast, I could have had a nap. I put my helmet back on and had a pleasant ride home. Thank you and Happy Holidays to the Queen Bean Coffee House.
Love this place, usually only one lady working but she’s fabulous! She takes your order, takes it to you and no matter how busy she is she is always positive, calm and collected. This place over all has such relaxed homey vibes I don’t mind waiting even if I’m in a rush☺️ They have a beautiful garden/ patio area and it’s all very zen. Highly recommend. Oh and the coffee is a great roast, amazing flavor!
I took my friends son to do a painting activity at this coffee shop. There was a lady who teaches painting for all ages. He had a lot of fun. It did cost $25. I don't usually do things that cost this much. He had a lot of fun. It was worth the money.
I had a great experience here. The sandwich I ordered was very delicious. It was the Cali-Delight. Served on 5 seed sliced bread, mayonnaise, avocado, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, mushrooms, onions, ham, bacon, with cheddar and Swiss cheese. I also had a strawberry & banana smoothie that was good. For dessert I had a slice of their chocolate fudge cake. For the longest time I did not know they served sandwiches. Now that I do I will come back again.
although I love the name and the ambiance of the place, the coffee was not great and the food was quite bland. I recommend this as a place to go study but bring your own coffee if you’re needing that extra push.
Breakfast bowl was bland. Service was rude. Asked for a cold brew and was given a hot brew. Then just added ice to the hot brew that was made. Would not recommend.
Healthy food, great coffees, terrific funky ambience. Plenty of cozy inside spots and a beautiful garden for outside seating. My favorite coffee shop in Modesto.
I've been coming here for years, came here few days ago and I was so disappointed! We asked for our coffee to be in ceramic mugs, FAIL! I ordered a croissant breakfast sandwich, it had no flavor,it was cold, just terrible. First time that ever happened, always loved their food .This place has gone down hill, won't be coming back!
Great coffee, but the smoothie was crushed ice with syrup – not really a smoothie! Open
It's one of those places you reeeeally want to like, but never have a good experience at. It's a great space, it's locally owned, they host events. Just terrible slow cranky impatient service all the time. Upcharge for credit cards, upcharge for almond or soy. No vegan food options, upcharge for substitutions. There's always an issue. Today the server said she'd bring my drink to the table, after about 25 minutes I wondered what could be taking so long for an iced coffee, so I went and checked and found 4 drinks sweating on the counter. Then I took a big sip and got a mouthful of coffee grounds. See the photo below-- this is what was left after I carefully drank the top portion without letting the straw touch the bottom. Gross. Oh, and it was $4.21.
