Everything you'd want in a small town cafe. Good food, good service, and a display case of fresh baked goodies!
Rustic small cafe with many seats as well as outside seating. Located in the same building as Mt Witney restaurant. To-go orders add $1.00. A very pleasant surprise was that even with Tourist/California prices, coffee was only $2.95. The vast majority of entrees over $14.00. Our meal was good, unfortunately ran out of tradional hashbrowns potatoes right before we arrived. They bake their own bread, cupcakes and pies. Breakfast served all day - pancakes and french toast stops at 11:00. Cafe closes at 2:00. No guest WiFi - 4G cellular available. Single large unisex bathroom clean and picked up. Staff cordial and friendly.
Great food, friendly service, and an inviting atmosphere. The food is very fresh and tasty, and the portion sizes are generous. The chicken fried steak is among the best I've had ever. The biscuits are fluffy and flavorful. The gravy is also some of the best I've ever had, with great flavor and large sized pieces of sausage in it. This is definitely a new favorite place, and I'll be coming back here for sure.
One of our favorite cafés in the nation, it's a must-stop with the kids when driving 395! Super delish, indoor and outdoor seating, incredible baked goods and lots of other options, sweet staff. We had a wonderful stop this time, as always, thank you to the staff!!
Sooo good. Really delicious classic breakfast. The fruit salad was fantastic.
Tasty and healthy breakfast. Highly recommend you eat here, their food is good for the soul. Great menú, coffee and my omelette with avocado on top was delicious. Excellent service, breathtaking views from the patio dining area.
Was treated very poorly by the chick up front on a power trip with a high tight pony tail. Took at seat at one of the empty tables after standing at the counter for 5+ minutes and not being greeted. Another group after followed suit and was served immediately. Was called out by the chick at the front power tripping that I needed to move tables so she could seat another group. Proceeded to get bad mouthed like I did something wrong even though I did what everyone else was doing. Food was good service was trash. I’ll take the mediocre food and go to the Totem next time, better service.
I would love to give this place 5 stars for the food as it was great. But unfortunately the service left a really sour taste in our mouth. Our waitress was lovely but the chick up front with the too tight high pony is extremely rude and apparently on a power trip. When we arrive there was 3+ tables open and no one waiting. Was not greeted for 5 min waiting at the counter so we decided to seat ourselves at one of the many open tables. Another groups of people after us followed suit. They were greeted immediately and yet we were called out from across the restaurant from the lady with the pony tail about how we sat ourselves and continued to bad mouth us from behind the counter. She then told us we needed to move to another table so she could seat another party. Seems she chooses who to seat and be kind to as she was extremely rude to some parties and kind to others. As someone who’s worked years in the service industry, this is not how you treat your guests.
Came in on a pretty busy morning due to snow on the road. We were seated right away and had food, coffee, and were back on the road within the hour. Great food - fluffy pancakes and delicious eggs benny. Friendly service and all around great vibe!
Great breakfast place with fresh ingredients in every recipe and great atmosphere.
Alabama Hills Cafe & Bakery: Good Coffee, Great Pastries, and Nice Staff! I was in the area for multiple days and had the opportunity to eat here a couple of different times. I highly recommend the Alabama Hills Omelet w/ home fries, avocado, sour cream, and mixed vegetables... it's delicious!
Such a great eating spot, food is awesome and fresh. Bread and bakery goods made fresh on site. Such a a home town feel because of staff who are always busy but takes time for your needs. Give them a 10+ a must stop for this little town restaurant
This place is a must stop if you’re in the Alabama hills area. The fruit tart was hands down the best thing I’ve ever eaten in my life. You will regret not taking one home. They are baked fresh every morning! Coffee was excellent as was the breakfast and service. I wish I lived closer, this would be my neighborhood go to.
Fantastic hospitality, the place is so cheerful. We loved our omelet + strawberry milkshake (it tasted chemical to me but my friend who ordered thought it was the best ever) and avocado wrap. Tuna wrap was bit watery. Coffee’s great. Quick service!
Great breakfast spot!
Small Cafe w/ limited seating. Come early to beat the crowd. Good food, Pancakes were good. Huge cinnamon rolls. Service is good. Parking is limited.
I recently visited Alabama Hills Cafe and Bakery in Lone Pine, CA and it was an incredible experience! The breakfast was the best I've ever had - the cinnamon french toast meal was fantastic and the bacon was perfectly crisp and thick. The cinnamon rolls were to die for! The service was great, though there was a bit of a long wait time, but it was definitely worth it. I would highly recommend this great small town hole in the wall to anyone visiting the area!
Whatever you do don't order the vegan breakfast. It is possibly the worst $17.50 I have ever spent. I mean we all know good food does not exist in Lone Pine but this was the worst meal I've had.
Great food and service. All dishes were delicious. I had the chicken wrap and it was fantastic.
Really good experience, and very friendly workers also one of the best burgers I've had
