This place is bustling and in a good way! The Tritip, Jalapeño Cornbread and Potatoes were great but the amazing food here is the homemade chocolate cake! Great ambiance!
Me and my child when to eat and the tri-tip, mash potatoes, macaroni salad 🥗 was great.
Delicious as always. Friendly staff and a beautiful new patio space.
We have been here several times and it is always good. This particular time I had a shredded beef sandwich and it was good but it wasn't hot.. not even warm.. it was maybe room temperature but turned cold once I put BBQ sauce on it.. big disappointment
Always delicious. Beautiful new patio seating.
Had to sit outside. Not bad atmosphere. Worst part was an employee who keep slamming shut the door where we were sitting. Customers have to open the door to get to the outside seating.
I threw up when I went there and it smelled really bad!
It's ok...salsa is not good meats are fresh but bland
The food is always yummy. And, the service is always top notch. On my latest visit: I noticed they recently added a patio dining area with umbrellas and misters.
Employees need to be friendlier I didn't know how to address the menu I had never been there and they seemed like it was a problem to walk me through the process
My favorite dish is the tri-tip.
The sandwich was small the potato salad was in a small container the cake had some frosting gone the cake was very expensive so was the sandwich and potato salad
Awesome salads. Super delicious! Chocolate cake is best ever!
Delicious food (order cafeteria style) , friendly staff
Smiles everywhere in this place. Employees seemed happy. Food was great except for the salsa. Our favorite was the cheesy potatoes. We will be back.
Let's just say.....whole experience...blah! Food was warm more towards cool and rolls were tuff to bite into. Way to expensive.
Food is good but parking can be difficult to find.
Food great. Restaurant very very loud
After moving states this is still a well known favorite going through town. Essentially a “Tex mex chipotle” Jakes is a great place to go if you are looking for Mexican style comfort dishes served in front of your face the same way many food chains have popularized. Although they are a Tex mex place I would argue their cake, A chocolate cake absolutely layered in homemade frosting is a must buy when visiting. They also have incredibly delicious mashed potatoes. Pricing is relatively fair/competitive for what you get and the food is great. Their burritos from what I’ve experienced are pretty big and will cover a plate whole. The location is relatively big and good for sit down. Drinks are self serve and easily refillable. A stand alone location located in Bakersfield CA and a must try if you are coming through. Amazing chocolate cake and great burritos they also have veggie options and preferences between beef/chicken.
We were in town for a volleyball match and discovered Jakes - yum! We will be eating here every time we come through the area!
