Located on the south side of Chandler, Top Cup is a venue I've been waiting to try. Unfortunately it wasn't worth the wait. The cappuccino, small & dry, was more or less an espresso shot with some steamed foam atop. The foam was airy, lacking substance. The espresso shot was robust. I am always a skeptic when the establishment offers the choice of a "large cappuccino". Top Cup also has a variety of cereal flavored milks to flavor an iced coffee. As I have an affinity for cereal, it was game on. Here again the Cap'n Crunch failed to deliver. Should you find yourself in South Chandler, I'd suggest you drive on as Top Cup wasn't all that.
I recently went to top cup and had a order made wrong, so I called them and the young man I spoke with was extremely considerate and kind. He was very sorry it happened and wanted to make it right. He took down my info and the next time I went by, they gave me my drink for free as well a few free drink cards. I’m grateful to see some places still go above and beyond to make things right. It really made my week!
This is by far the highest quality coffee & breakfast service in Gilbert. The quality is top tier. Always freshly made, doesn’t taste cheap. Top Cup truly is on top!
Guys, please restaff! Or, at least train again. I get it! (I really do.) But I’m telling you get employees that actually want to be there! Simply asked for salsa and they all took turns trying to pass it on to another and waited and waited till we asked them again and then they passed it again to one another. Wow! I was utterly shocked. Barista making drinks was too concerned about talking about my use of “grande” to order than care to make sure he knew what I wanted. The barista at register was very kind in double checking I wanted a 16oz size and she was correct, I did. The Barista on bar brought out an iced drink so I let him know it was ordered hot. He comes back with a 20oz hot instead of the 16oz one I ordered. I had already had to ask for one remake of my free Mother’s Day coffee so I didn’t feel right correcting him again and we threw it out after we left & bought coffee elsewhere. We live on the Westside side and we were excited to be in Chandler, close enough to make the trek to Top Cup- only to be pretty disappointed with the experience. Even if you don’t agree with how someone speaks when they order, the most basic customer services skills still allow you to kindly figure out & serve what they are ordering.
Went today for the first time! Super cute place. Good coffee and ambience. Very joyous and charismatic workers.
I would give it a 5 star but the one thing that bothers me is that I usually go there to work and when I place an order, the employees fail to call the food/coffee. It is kind of stressful to keep on looking towards the pick up counter after order.
Gave it a try since it's newer in the area and was charged almost $14 for a coffee which they asked if I wanted coffee in....isn't this a coffee house? No receipt, just charged way too much for a blended coffee that I couldn't even taste coffee in and that if I ordered online through their website would have been about $9. Automatic nondisclosed $5 tip?
Top cup might have hired more people or something but the staff that’s helped me the last few times I’ve been there have been so kind and helpful. They seem to genuinely care about how I’m doing when they ask. It really makes or break a place when the staff could care less about you. I look forward to coming back.
I go to top cup a lot for lunch, and I noticed recently they added new food items to the menu. So my wife and I thought we’d try them out and they were AMAZING! We got the new breakfast sandwich and breakfast bagel. They were hot and fresh to begin with, but they were full of flavor and really hit the spot for some brunch style food. They also have great paninis and a breakfast burrito‘
The one star is because it is an absolutely beautiful space/atmosphere. Unfortunately the coffee was horrible. Despite the fact that my friend and I ordered the exact same thing, mine was ridiculously icky sweet and hers was super bitter and strong coffee flavor. I was also not a fan of the white mocha being made with chips it left a waxy film on the inside of my cup and I kept getting random chunks while I was drinking. It wasn’t until I was sitting there listening to others order that I heard that there was a syrup option as it wasn’t explained to me. I am from Washington state and absolutely love espresso beverages but unfortunately I did not like this place. :( sad because I really wanted to!
I have to give a big shout out to all the staff at Top Cup during the power outage. They not only kept the doors open to serve patrons but also served available items! What a great team--always friendly and go above and beyond to provide great customer service. I'm so happy to have a boutique coffee shop like Top Cup in my neighborhood!
Coffee was great. Restaurant was clean and staff was very friendly. Will return!
Very pricey. The iced 32oz lattes will be over $10 if you get oat milk. Probably will never be back as this is out of the way. The drink was good but not $10 good if you know what I mean.
Great spot to chill or work. Outdoor seating too. Coffee is very good and the staff is so nice! It does get busy when Basha HS let's out so plan accordingly.
The smoothies are delicious and their Caesar dressing is fantastic!
Coffee is okay but absolutely not enough to excuse the service. Two teenage-looking girls who were behind the counter were talking to each other when I walked in and they continued to talk to one another even as I was waiting to place my order. The girl nearest to me said to her friend "one sec", turned to me and then said "do you know what you want?". I don't know if this how they've been trained but it reflects poorly on the store and clearly these other reviews have had similar experiences.
I’m a simple cafe latte drinker, their oat milk latte with NO flavor was good. Always a key the coffee is good when you can enjoy the coffee without sugar. Nice environment to enjoy some reading with your coffee
The only reason they get a star from me is because the actual shop itself is beautiful. However the customer service and drinks are not good. Skimming through the other low rated reviews, it seems like others have had a similar experience as me but the owners seem to not want to take any accountability in their responses. That puts even a worse taste in my mouth. Would have liked to see hot coffee provided in mugs for customers who were seated in the shop to reduce waste. Will not return.
This is a quiet place to enjoy some good coffee. Vibes are really good, too. The atmosphere is relaxed. Highly recommended!
