Nice and quaint pitstop on your way to or from a hike. Good coffee, helpful and friendly people, and plenty of snacking options.

A great little detour along your trip on Route 1. The atmosphere is very warm and if you have an eclectic aesthetic, you will love this place. The barista was very kind and gave me some tips on spots to check out. Oh, and the coffee was strong and excellent.

We went here twice while in town. Coffee and latte were both very good. We also bought some of their light roast to brew at home and it was very good.

Loved this place. The barista was super friendly, coffee was decent, and the decor was nerdy which was great. Toast your own bagel gave it a very personal feel.

The grind is a place not even Stormtroopers can miss! Had the absolute best cup of coffee at the grind on Labor Day 2022. We decide to drive through the town of Girdwood, and I couldn't resist a cup of coffee from this quaint little shop. They have some baked goods, snacks, and souvenirs inside the store, and they offer all of the usual coffee drinks. I always say that the taste of a black cup of coffee will tell you how good the rest of the coffee drinks are, and this was, by far, the best coffee I've had while traveling! Not far off of Alaska 1, it's well worth the stop.

Best. Coffee. Ever! So glad we stopped at The Grind for the few minutes we were in Girdwood. The barista was delightful to chat with and the Black Irish Espresso was so delicious. (It was the brew of the day, I did not order it as an espresso or Americano.) I can't say enough wonderful things about how smooth this coffee is. We bought a one-pound bag to take home! The selection of items in the store are eclectic and fun. Cute greeting cards and gifts. I wish I could remember the barista's name so I could thank her in this review. She had her well-trained dog Koda in the back room; and he was delightful, too. If I ever go back to Alaska, and am anywhere near Girdwood, I will definitely return to The Grind.

If you want a taste of local life in Girdwood, The Grind is the spot to check out. Great coffee and the interior is full of local flare and products with geek culture thrown in. They roast coffee here and the coffee is amazing. I didn't try them, but they're known for having tasty waffles. Definitely a place to try while you're in Girdwood.

I think the baristas might need a little more training. I would’ve asked them to re-make our drinks, but I don’t think they would have come out any different. Just…train them better, please.
