This place used to be my favorite spots in Girdwood. I’m not sure if there there has been a change in management or what, but service is super slow, with staff standing around, including the cook. This place used to be a bustling hot spot where you could get a good hot breakfast before skiing, but I’ll be skipping now. At least they take cards now, but I’d go back to the cash only days if I could get the service back.
My first lunch at the Bake Shop was a hearty bowl of soup in 1983. It is just as good now as then.
Big cinnamon rolls! It was a little dry but very yummy. Good coffee too.
Always have a lovely breakfast at the bakeshop! French toast is super yummy and good size portion as well as the pancakes! I always have leftovers when I go.
Excellent place for a filling meal before (or midway) through an active day!

What an awesome local restaurant! It has the loud, mom and pop diner feel with an incredible breakfast. Would recommend the sourdough pancakes!
I ordered the breakfast sandwich and my wife had the farmers omelet. They were both mediocre, but decently priced. The breakfast sandwich was not very flavorful.
Who doesn't like bottomless soup!!! The bake shop had a killer deal where you can purchase a bottomless bowl of soup and a bun (which was very large) for I think $11. That's highway robbery in my mind! What a great deal. I personally had the cup of soup and a grilled cheese on sourdough bread. The soup was fantastic and so was the sandwich. My sweet tooth was also calling me after my soup and sandwich so I tried the brownie. Out of this world. Very right in chocolate and hit the spot. The cashier said that they rarely have the brownies out so it was a special. This is a for sure stop if you are in the Girdwood area.
Bacon was excellent. Sour dough toast just as good. Eggs were so so. Did have great customer service even being packed with no tables available.
Just awesome! Bada$$ staff, food, and views! #breakfastinpeace
We were on our way to Seward and stopped for breakfast. The place is a nice, friendly, and rustic space. The indoor area is quite loud because of the kitchen fans and radio, but I guess that adds to the charm. We had the Farmers Breakfast Omelette, which was tasty but looked more similar to a frittata folded in half to us. We also ordered the Summer of 75 Special because I love sourdough (they also sell sourdough loaves). Never had sourdough pancakes before so I had to try them. Unfortunately, it tasted a little off to me and I couldn't finish my meal. But overall, we had a pleasant visit here. It was bustling and I can see how people would enjoy it here.
I've driven 40-miles for their breakfast or lunch. Great food. Great service. Sometimes you'll need to wait for a table, or ask to share seats with folks not taking up a whole table. Friendly and fast. Check out their website.
Great coffee, sourdough pancakes, chili, and all kinds of amazing goodies. Do not miss this jewel when you visit Girdwood.
Awesome staff here, super nice and quick. Delicious hot chocolate and super packed grilled ham sandwiches. Great place! Whipped cream has a maple flavor :)
Probably the best bacon I've ever had. Famous for their sweet rolls for good reason. Pretty busy during brunch time!
View and atmosphere is incredible. Price on food is a little high but on par with the area and taste good.
Great coffee and a warm breakfast on a rainy Girdwood day. Friendly staff and chill atmosphere. Bakes, shop, you name it 😎👍🏽
I've had many cinnamon rolls, some good some bad. But the ones here were without a doubt the worst cinnamon rolls I have ever had. The dough part wasn't terrible but they completely ruin the frosting with spices and lemon. We bought two and just threw the 2nd one away it was so bad. The breakfast sandwich was good though.
Great spot for breakfast and carry out food. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Busy local spot in Girdwood.
