Brandon is an excellent server, and the restaurant is amazing for Sunday brunch. Highly recommend!
The food was amazing and cooked to perfection! The live band was a vibe. 9/10 I would recommend. The only reason I gave this place a 4/5 is because the customer service wasn’t up to par. The server was great; however, the hostess attitude suck! I will definitely visit the place again.
Always a great place to eat and great service. LGBTQ+ friendly. Get the Beignets!
Out for brunch following church services and was looking for something different. This place was definitely it! From the food to the atmosphere enjoyed it to the utmost! I'm looking forward to experiencing dinner there!
Fabulous meal! To start we had the lamb small plate (see pic) and then moved on to the fried oysters with arugula. Both were superb. Great flavor profiles. For our main we had the smoked chicken with white sauce. The meat was so tender and it was topped with a delicious white sauce with just enough bite. We rarely order chicken out, but so glad we did. Look forward to our next visit!
Food is great atmosphere is casual and service is excellent. Highly recommend
Awesome spot for brunch with fresh orange juice. 🍊
Took my daughter's here for Sunday brunch. Service was amazing and good was the same. 5 stars
I've visited FIVE for their brunch and also their dinner, and I have not been disappointed! Even though they only do 5 entrees at a time on the menu, the variety and the consistency is noteworthy. Plenty of parking and in a great location. We've been there at prime times to eat and have been able to get a table pretty regularly, so it's also a good backup place to go if you have other plans that fall through.
We decided to give Five a try for Sunday brunch with our picky 14 yo, and we were not disappointed. We arrived around 12:30, but only waited about 30m to be seated. We got caramel apple beignets to start, with a DIY Bloody Mary & pineapple mimosa for the adults. The beignets were delicious and both drinks were good. I got the shrimp & grits, which were well seasoned and creamy. My wife ordered the chicken & waffles - really tasty - and the kid got the breakfast cheeseburger, which he devoured with gusto. The interior of the place is an interesting hodge-podge of pictures & memorabilia with local-ish associations. There was a pleasant jazzy duo performing in the corner, loud enough to enjoy without overpowering the room. Service was a bit slow, but that's understandable at such a busy time. We'll definitely return to try dinner soon.
Great place! Staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is great and how about the Bloody Mary Bar??? Hah! They have a build your own BM Bar… first I’ve ever seen. Check out my pics. It’s a must have for breakfast and the bar it’s self is a beautiful bar. Awesome place for sure.
Our party of 5 went to 5 Bat in Bham on a Saturday at 2:20pm for Brunch. We were told they were out of food. As we left a group came in behind us and they were seated. We were very disappointed.
Today was probably just a bad day but you only get one chance to make a first impression. We ordered the Beignets and then 10 minutes later the waitress came back to tell us they were out. We ordered chicken and waffles but they were out of bone in chicken so they had to sub for tenders at an additional $2. I didn't realize that the waffle had nuts (I'm allergic) I simply asked for another waffle and apologized for my mistake and then all of a sudden they're out of waffle mix. It would've been believable if they had not continued to bring out waffles to other guests. The manager comes over to apologized and continue the out of waffle mix statement and then said I wouldn't be charged for it. Well duh....I didn't eat it! The food that was eaten had potential but it came out barely warm. They were also out of grapefruit juice. Food had been on the table at least 5 minutes before we could even get silverware to eat it. I probably won't ever go back but people do speak highly of the food. Last and final annoyance was one person ordered shrimp and grits as an appetizer and his wife helped him eat it so the waitress took it upon herself to split the payment for it between the entire table and not just him and his wife. That made no sense to me and my husband. To say the least, the service sucked big time today.
3.7/5 ⭐️ Chicken ‘N’ Waffles | FIVE Burrito Starting with parking, we had to park around the restaurant, which was no big deal. Location makes it a little difficult to find parking, but it was not too bad, on a Saturday morning. The interior of the restaurant was clean, the design and seating was a little different from other places, but different is not always a bad thing. The setting of the restaurant was suited for this place. We were greeted with good gestures and kindness, and got a table for 2. We were given a small corner table, which was nothing bad but just was hoping for a bigger table, since we were so up against the wall and the table was just tiny, which ended up making eating a little difficult later on. The atmosphere was good, with a lot of chatting and talking going on around us. We got a waiter instantly and asked us how we were and what we would like to drink. My partner got a glass of OJ and we stuck with water. The menu and the idea of the menu goes with the name of the place, FIVE. There are only five items to choose from, with what seems like two appetizers on top corner of the menu to order from. The idea and simplicity of this is actually very great to see, because a simple menu usually means banger food. I ended up going with the FIVE breakfast burrito, and my partner, with the Chicken ‘N’ Waffles. The food arrived after about a 15 minute wait. Again, waiting on food is not a deal breaker or a bad sign, it is just if there are 5 things on the menu, you would expect it a little quicker, but it was a busy Saturday morning and the long wait was not an issue at all. The FIVE breakfast burrito came with hashbrowns. The presentation was beautiful. I am not a big fan of breakfast burritos, but I seemed to be craving one this morning. But this one was good. It was covered with queso and salsa, and the eggs, sausage, and the chorizo all had a good taste and flavor to it. If you do like breakfast burritos, I am sure you would love this one. Again
When there was a Five Bar in Knoxville I LOVED it and ate there almost weekly. I was so sad when it closed. I was thrilled to find one in Birmingham and ordered my former “usual” of the strawberry lemonade cocktail and cheeseburger. The drink, salad and fries were wonderful and as remembered. The cheeseburger was room temperature!!! I was so disappointed. It had obviously been sitting for quite some time before it was served to me. The flavors were great, but not very fun eating a cold burger. My friends both ordered the paneed chicken and loved it. Pretty disappointed
Really enjoyed everything. The live band was awesome, but they shut everything down at 2pm.
The live jazz band that was featured today was fantastic! Well trained musicians bringing the soul and the funk to the mix. The vocalist sang the stories with a lot of feeling. Good atmosphere.
Sunday brunch. Food was good. Service good. Atmosphere good. Small jazz band provided live music. Great place for a relaxed Sunday brunch.
This place was delicious we all ordered different items. it was like a buffet at the table
Great food, excellent service - especially for our 10+ party!
