Our table and chairs were not wiped off before we sat down. I ordered the fried pickles, which were good, but my first order had one that was completely burned. My waiter, she was great though!

Too expensive for the terrible service. Waited 20 minutes for an 11 dollar jack and coke?????
Keep in mind that I’m sitting in patio chairs and drinking from a plastic cup for $11. Definitely taking advantage of college students.

good local bar has averaged greasy food very good prices for their happy hour specials that are offered during the day as well as after 9 p.m. during weekdays. They do offer half price beer and mixed drinks for the happy hour specials on a regular basis and then very specials throughout the week I would recommend the cheese fries as well as the teas

Never been and never will. $3 cash cover during happy hour, no live music and simply trying to have dinner on the patio. Ridiculous.

It has a prime downtown location, and it always has a fun looking outdoor presence. Indoors is nice and cozy, and feels like there's always decent space. The specials are nice, like for example, half off on all craft beers before 11 on weekeays. The fries are amazing, they come out served hot on a skillet with sour cream, tomatoes, melted cheese, etc. For a student on a budget who wants a spot that's a little classier than the Den or Phyrst, Cafe is definitely the move.

Cafe is my favorite bar in State College because I love the location, the patio, the food/drinks, and the atmosphere.
Absolutely check out the daily specials. On Fridays, skillet fries go on special from 6-8 PM, and they're a local favorite. I also highly recommend the Buffalo chicken dip (dollar off on Fridays as well). My go-to meal are the chicken tenders, which you can also get saucy.
The most popular drink is the Cafe Tea. It's a long Island iced tea that comes in several specialty flavors. Recently they have also begun to serve them frozen, which I highly recommend. There is a new skinny tea on the menu, which I think is delicious, and my other favorite is the Original. Most people love the strawberry and the Miami Beach. Certain days and times, beers go on special. Order beer pitchers during happy hour.
Historically, the bouncers have not been the friendliest, but the waitstaff are super. Of course, when they are busy the waits can be long, but it never bothered me when I was spending and evening. Also, cover usually starts around 9 on nights where there will be live music.
If you're a senior at Penn State, they host an event called '55 Days' where every day between spring break and graduation you have to go to Cafe and buy something. After graduation, they cap of the event with a huge party on the back terrace. We had a lot of fun spending our money every day at Cafe, but let's be honest, we would have been there most warm days in the spring anyway.

Food is always good, but there's always a wait. So if you have alot of time on your hands with no place to go, would highly recommend. Drinks are good too.
Sidenote predominantly a college hang out. Only in the early afternoon they have an older crowd getting lunch and have a beer.

Low quality experience. Cheap food for overpriced prices. Manager was very rude. Staff are nice, but definitely caters to (white cis) college students. I will probably not be going back for a long time.

Great place to come for a few drinks with some friends or colleagues. The food is good enough to get you by, but don't go here strictly for the food alone. The drink specials are what this place is known for. The staff varies but is overall nice, however the wait staff tends to get scatter brained and can forget a table easily.

I walked up to the bar was buying a drink and then was ask to leave. I was interrogated by an employee and accused of being drunk. 220 pounds 4 beers over a 2 hour period... not even close. They treated me horribly in front of my wife and family. I give this place a 1 middle finger. Absolute Trash.
