I used to love this place so much! I went back this morning for a breakfast date with my husband. It was not very crowded. We sat around for a while for our breakfast sandwich orders, watched others get their orders, and watched all the employees crowd around two puppies and take pictures with their Polaroids… never got our order. And not to mention, the barista had to remake my coffee order because she used whole milk instead of almond. Just asked for a refund and left as it had been about 45 minutes. It would be great to see an adult/manager working with the teenage employees.

this place is great and they do a wonderful job for a small business. it gets super busy but they stay on top of things. the baristas are amazing at their job. it is very easy to get distracted and for them to make small mistakes and for people to be so cruel to them is beyond awful. when they make small mistakes, they are very sweet about it and some customers don't see that. it may take a while for everything to get out but they do an amazing job considering they're not a full service restaurant. the baristas stay positive after their rushes.

I really wanted to like this place but it’s a miss. I rarely leave bad reviews….We went over summer and it wasn’t very busy. I ordered breakfast sandwiches, coffees and a muffin. The breakfast sandwich is advertised as “egg and cheese (and then choice of meat)”.
It was taking terribly long for the coffees and sandwiches so I decided to read the reviews about wait time and saw someone comment about mayonnaise on their breakfast sandwiches… which is odd and more odd you wouldn’t note that on the menu. I asked the cashier if they have mayo on them and she confirmed they do. I was very nice and saying that it wasn’t advertised (or told to us when ordering) and it we don’t eat mayo and they offered to remake them and then at that exact point I caught a glimpse of the “kitchen”….
Just one girl, who appeared very flustered, was the kitchen person. I felt bad for her. Breakfast sandwich: The “egg” is liquid egg beaters and then pour it in circular egg cooker and put it in the microwave. The bacon appeared to be microwaved as well. The bacon was fatty and flimsy. The bagel also was in a bag that looked like Thomas Bagels. Then saw her smothering the sandwich in mayo. (At this point the cashier went back to her to tell her to remake them without mayo).
Maybe coffee is your thing but you cannot charge $8+ dollars for a microwaveable breakfast sandwich. Not sure if this is standard practice for their food, but I saw it first hand. I understand the rising prices (& this was summer 2022) but you can’t charge that much $ for microwaved items.
I don’t like to complain so I just took the food when it was ready and left. we didn’t eat the sandwiches. Coffee was subpar. 1 star for muffin. It was okay but I had to warm it up and put butter on it so it wasn’t so dry. Those 5 things were almost $30 and it was wasted money.

My wife, toddler, and I have been on a little cafe kick as of late, trying different spots in the area. After seeing all the stellar reviews for Brewed Awakening, we decided this would be our next spot to try.
The vibe in here is nice, definitely a spot to chill and relax if you have some time to kill. The (presumably) owner was making coffee drinks, hustling and overall friendly. Food portions are solid for the price and everything tasted good - our breakfast sandwiches came with a surprise potato waffle that was great!
The girl taking our order seemed like she just woke up from a nap and needed 6 espresso shots. Didn’t really have the same friendliness and enthusiasm as the guy making drinks. I got an oatmilk latte, which was pretty good - nothing mind blowing but got the job done. I ordered a sausage egg and cheese on everything bagel, but asked if I could have cheddar on it - they said no they don’t have it so then I said ok just make it with sausage and egg NO cheese. I even verified again when I went to pay that it would be without cheese - well guess what, it had cheese on it. The strangest part is afterwards I was looking at their lunch sandwich list and there were clearly ones offered with cheddar - so they just don’t offer cheddar on their breakfast sandwiches? Kinda odd.
I know the type of cheese I wanted may sound like a strange complaint, but aside from preferring the taste of cheddar, it’s actually one of the few cheeses that doesn’t contain lactose, which for me is a necessity. All in all this place is decent but probably not one we’ll be back at anytime soon.

We love this little coffee shop! We usually have a great visit! Good coffee and great mochas. We were disappointed on our last trip to find out they no longer use Barrister Bagels for their breakfast sandwiches. The bagels used are very similar to Thomas bagels. Their hashbrowns are really good! However last time they came out cold. Hoping that when we go back they have better bagels and we can enjoy the food and drink 😊

The coffee and service is great. Employees do a great job despite only 2 of them working through a rush. Only problem I have is the employees aren’t earning the tips that they deserve for their great service, so I feel like i’m wasting my money tipping just the owner.

The food was good. I asked the girl of she had any flavored cream cheese for my bagel and she no this a coffee place(???hmm most DO have flavors).
Coffee was good but I needed to warm up bc I put too much ice in it. She refused to put a little bit in my cup. This is a strict place. Most coffee shops can put just a little on top of the cup. Other than that the coffee was ok and the bagel was fresh and delicious!

Living in Pittsburgh, I am surrounded by many coffee shops. Good coffee shops are hard to find in miscellaneous small towns, but this is one of them. The staff are all incredibly friendly (even if you accidentally walk in right when they are closing), the drinks are high quality, and the atmosphere is great for doing work or catching up with a friend.

fantastic coffeeshops, delicious (and well-priced) drinks, and look at the muffin! we'll be returning FOR SURE. pictured is Peppermint chocolate biscotti, an espresso chip muffin, a Mocha, and a magnum-sized cappuccino 😋 #buylocal #smallbusiness

Great local coffee shop and yum breakfast sandwiches! Love the waffle hash browns with bagel sandwiches. Could definitely hold the salt on top of the plate but otherwise really delicious sandwiches and fun coffees! Peaceful seating and little table with crayons and books for the little ones.
