Had a great Ethiopian pour over coffee. I enjoyed the relaxing environment. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Cool spot with the most unique coffee drinks we've had in a long time! We'll definitely be back. The Tonic (iced) was zippy and refreshing. The Black Sesame (hot) had a deep, filling flavor. Recommend both.

A new shop and already one of my favorites. I had a great shot of espresso and one of the best espresso tonics (maybe it was actually called the tonic coffee) I’ve had anywhere. Went back a few days later for their full tasting experience (this one was for Colombia) and was blown away. Fully recommend checking out Tonic Coffee for a great experience!!

My son and I visited Tonic Coffee last evening to finish celebrating Father’s Day. A super thoughtful gift.
We got to enjoy a “Coffee Experience” A Trip to Columbia.
What a fantastic hour!
We were joined by a nice couple, so just the 4 of us sitting at the bar. On the other side of the bar, the Tonic folks. Stephanie, David, and Nick. They made us comfortable immediately.
A nicely immersive experience. Colombian music and slideshow.
The drinks were truly fantastic.
Both hot and cold were unique.
Finishing with a nice dessert.
The presentation was equally impressive. Informative and really fun.
Thank you to Stephanie, David, and Nick. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Tonic Coffee is an incredibly unique coffee shop in Lawrenceville... the decor is minimalist, the ambience great with curated playlists, and a projector that displays art on the wall. It always smells amazing in here with a potent mix of freshly brewed coffee and the incense or candle of the day. Onto the drinks...

Tonic Coffee deserves multiple updates and reviews as their menu is always changing and seasonal! They have their original mainstays like the Tonic Coffee or the Matcha Tonic (always on menu). Even if you are a creature of habit (like I am) and are tempted to only order your regular latte or pour over, these signature items are worth trying at least once! The Tonic Coffee is my favorite: a mysterious mix of espresso over ice, activated charcoal, bitters, finished with tonic water and lime essence. It drinks like a cocktail with a coffee soul. Well no, wait, the Matcha Tonic is also my favorite, depending on my mood! Also make sure to try their house-made Horchata (specialty on Fri-Sun)...if you've never had it, it's a comforting non-dairy rice drink made with cinnamon and sugar--it tastes a lot like childhood.

If you are a coffee purist, make sure to try the espresso or pour-over on its own. The dial-in process is meticulous; they are particular to using light roasts (so you will experience much different coffee than you'll find in Pittsburgh) and they will happily take your feedback at the bar. I'm from California, and there's a lot of hype around 3rd wave coffee, and I have always found places like Blue Bottle to be way too acidic. The coffee at Tonic is dialed in to bring out pleasant nuances like fruit or berries, without being overly acidic. It's definitely a unique taste from your average medium roast.

The EXPERIENCES... if you want to have an interesting date night, or try a variety of special drinks influenced by region, you must go to a private Tonic Coffee tasting experience! So far, they have featured a variety of countries, and each one with a special curated menu. There is truly nothing like this establishment. They are aiming to give you an experience that's much more than a coffee shop, and much more like a Michelin restaurant, with their private tastings.

The staff is super knowledgeable, you can pick the lead barista's brain with his extensive knowledge. They are offering sensory classes soon, which I'm super excited about! If you come on the weekend, you will also meet the owner, Stephanie... she is hospitable, knowledgeable, and very attentive!

Parking is available out front, sometimes you have to park around yoga traffic. Service dog friendly, and they also have water bowls available for your pup outside.

This place is strictly for rich/wealthy people. Their prices are disgustingly high for no reason; for reference, higher than Starbucks. If I could give negative stars I would, STAY FAR AWAY unless you make well over 6 figures and wanna throw money away for regular coffee

I had heard about this unique coffee spot ,that isn't your average coffee in Pittsburgh. I had saw through Instagram and wanted to travel (from Los Angeles) and see what it was all about.
The moment I walked in , my wannabe interior designer heart was fluttering. Everything is beautifully done and brings you into a different world , which you should when you drink a unique coffee.
I tried the mocha latte and the moment the beautifully done foam design hit my lips, my heart stopped and I fell in love all over again with this awesome drink! I had 2 more after that ♥️.
Next I tried the signature tonic coffee which is cold and not normally why I’d try but this was so Unbelievably good!
FYI I’m not a coffee person but this has changed my mind , because this is coffee done right; not just some basic Starbucks drink that looses its taste after 10 minutes in the cups.

Oh and the cups here to go are adorable! And also just the cups you can use to chill out inside , they are handmade and beautiful !
Thanks so much tonic coffee for showing me , if coffee is done right you to can be a coffee drinker!

The Trip to Colombia experience was so unique! Each mocktail and coffee drink that was served was so well crafted and delicious. The experience was also finished off with a dessert! I highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

I have never EVER had a pourover like the one they made me here. It brought out all of the right flavors. On top of that, we tried a latte and a straight espresso shot, both of which were special in their own ways. Finally, the owner and the other barista were both very knowledgeable (and brave enough to show it) and kind. I am blown away by their work!

The tonic coffee felt extravagant and delightful. It’s a very nice little space. I hope this place does well.
