This restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. Very aesthetic, a very cool place to be. If you are looking for a cool place for a coffee date. 100% recommend. The breakfast sandwiches are amazing, but the sweet buns did not hit the mark for me. They are coated in a thick exterior and it was hard to eat both texturally and in taste. Also, I understand how counterintuitive it is to say that coffee & tea should be less hot but I do think you should not be actively burning yourself to have tea at an appropriate temperature. We ordered a tea and the lid was not completely put on and I ended up pouring hot tea all down the front of me and burning myself. I like this restaurant but I did hurt myself and I don't want other people to. So please be super super cautious with your cups.

I really loved the atmosphere in this quaint coffee house. Very comfortable and due to the holidays, very decorative. The prices for food, considering the portion sizes, was the only drawback. Kind of expensive. Pretty close to Starbucks prices but if you are looking to support local, private businesses, this is a good choice. Their parfait was pretty good too, especially if you want a healthy alternative.

I drive by this place every day and finally decided to stop. Wonderful atmosphere with very nice staff but let's get to the real story here...the coffee and buns. Both were exceptional! They brew a Commonplace Coffee, so you really can't go wrong there. I had the basic bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. The bun was so light and fluffy and buttery. Will definitely be back for a visit. There are a lot of items on the menu I'll be tasting...both sweet and savory.

This coffee shop is adorable. The lattes are delicious, and both their savory and sweet buns are amazing. It was a great place for a Saturday morning breakfast, and would be a cute place for an informal date.

One of our favorites! Must go when in Oakland. Their coffees and buns are delicious. We didn’t love the Pittsburghbese, but everything else we’ve tried is pretty good. I also enjoy the buns plain toasted. Yum! There’s no table service, but all the food is ready pretty quick.

Had stopped in for açai bowl last week, when we discovered the Amazing buns they offered. Had to bring the children this week to appreciate the sweet and savory buns offered. You won't leave hungry.

What a wonderful coffee shop in the heart of Oakland! It was my first time in the place and I was so impressed. Their buns are made fresh daily and they are exquisite. So fluffy and soft! Their signature lavender syrup is also made in house and the lavender latte was superb. Highly recommended.

Stopped in this morning to meet a colleague and took a chance on the lavender latte. It was amazing! I almost wanted to order another so I could have it again later. I got a blt and at it an hour later. At first, I thought the bread was too thick, but it was soft and scrumptious. Can't wait to eat (and drink) there again.

I liked this place a lot. Got a coffee which was good and a turkey bun. Saw that they also have crazy good looking sweet buns. I will try them next time.

Sorry to say this place was disappointing. Wasn't crowded but took forever to get food. I think the poor young women the the back had to do everything herself. She was clearly working hard but had way too much to do. The acia bowl tasted like it came from Costco.
