Vinny's Original Brooklyn Bagels

How do you compliment a hard working local business? They are kind even when busy or you order something toasted with a few condiments, Vinnys delivers a top product. No frozen reheated bagels. All fresh. During Covid I was was happy to support them. During any shortage of help I’m more than patient to wait to be served. And the thank you I get from the owner and his front line make the 40 minute ride to them well worth it. All The Best !

I grew up in Honesdale and now live in New Jersey. I came to visit family I usually get Camp Umpys bagels on main street. My boyfriend and I went and they were closed so we decided to try this place. Bagels were ok customer service was horrible. My boyfriend (who is a very polite person) asked for a side cup of cream cheese for me which I always ask for and has never been a problem anywhere else. He was yelled at by the lady working up front and she complained about being understaffed. Okay… then he asks for his egg over easy. Again yelled at and told they only make scrambled eggs. Keep in mind we’ve never been here. Asks for our bagels toasted and she rolls her eyes and sighs loudly. The cream cheese and egg would not have been a problem considering we are understanding people but the way she treated him was unacceptable. Also being understaffed is never the customers problem. I’ve worked in restaurants for 3 years and customer service for another 2 years and there’s never a reason to be so rude. If you want good bagels with no attitude I suggest Camp Umpys on main street. Way more accommodating and more variety.

So Im from the area, and I moved to Scranton about two years ago. Let md tell you, there are NO good bagel places up there. I didn’t realize how lucky we have it in Honesdale! I’ll be honest, Camp Umpys has good food and is a really interesting enviroment, but it looses that local bagel store environment. Vinnys, however, does it right! Ever since he opened back in 2018, he experiments with different flavors to make sure his recipes are new and what the community wants. His food is excellent, his staff is nice, the location is perfect, and the hours are decent! Whenever I have a dr appr in Honesdale, I always have to stop for one. Keep doing what you are doing, awesome job!

Nice to see a place taking the pandemic seriously. Very clean place, Masks worn by all. Friendly staff. Fresh crispy bagels. The bagels are crispy different from other places in the area,and more reminiscent of a NY bagel. Reasonable prices for breakfast, on par with other bagel shops nearby. I have had a few different varieties of bagel, all were great. They have a limited selection, no fancy stuff here white flour items only. (no wheat, pumpernickel etc) . Many other breakfast offerings such as cookies and coffee rolls. I though the lunch (soups and sandwiches) , was very good. They use boars head meats. Small selection of drinks available.

Found this place on Yelp. The best bagels in the area. Thought no one around makes authentic NY/NJ bagels,but was proved wrong by Vinny's. I ate my sandwich in 5 minutes, it was so good. The size of the bagels are huge. Can't wait to come back!

I got a plain bagel with salmon spread and it was good and overflowing with spread. But...why don't you have egg bagels?

The food here is amazing. Open early for those of us constantly on the go. I'd recommend to anyone. My 2 year old loves their black and white cookies!
