This is a unique little gem that I'm excited to learn more about! You shouldn't hesitate checking them out.
This is a great meeting place for catching up with friends or meeting clients.
As the barista, that served me today, said "this is Honesdale's best kept secret."
But why?!? Everyone needs to know they are there. I'm not sure how I've missed this!
They have drinks and food; Anatomy Craft Coffee Bar coffee, tea and espresso drinks, Maae's Juice Bar smoothies and bowls, Follow the Smoke BBQ, Brother's Bagels, and who knows what I missed. They have limited menus to make it simple and not too overwhelming, yet plenty of different offerings for everyone. There are multiple businesses in one here and that's a unique concept.
They have seating options from a couch or individual chair to table and chairs to gather at. They have music nights. They have a suggestion board and comments board (love this BTW). They have a few games and a shelf of books. On seperate floors I hear they have a tutoring space, office spaces, and conference room (this part I don't quite get yet, but I'm intrigued).
Over all just a very welcoming feel and great place. It was clean and the vibes were good.
The best part- I was very pleased with my iced caramel macchiato and everything bagel with plain smear. The pricing is a little steeper than I expected, especially for the bagel. (I think bagels were $2.50 or with cream cheese it's $4.50.) However, I think that's pretty normal for this kind of Cafe style place?!
I have to elaborate on the coffee though. While they only offer one size, it was pretty darn good. Smooth, not over powering, just the right amount of oat milk and caramel. Was definitely not bitter. I do not give out solid 5 star reviews often, but this is earned. I don't have a complaint.
I will be back again and look forward to trying more things, especially food from Follow the Smoke.
The true test will be if they are consistent. That is the key.
But if you're reading this before deciding on a new place to try in Honesdale, go, try them out. You won't regret it.
Anatomy is one of the best coffee shops I've been to in my travels. I ordered a cinnamon french vanilla latte with oat milk since it's starting to feel like Fall in the mornings. The barista made it expertly - not too sweet, you can still taste the coffee, and even the temperature is perfect. There's nothing worse than getting a hot coffee and not being able to hold or sip it because it's too hot. I enjoyed sipping on my drink right away, while taking in the sights of sleepy Honesdale on a cold morning. My boyfriend ordered an iced (in this weather?) latte with smores flavor. I've never tried a smores latte that actually tasted like smores! This is one of my favorite coffee shops ever. Absolutely worth trying if you're nearby!!
I have gone here for a delicious cup of coffee for sometime! What I did not realize is that I could grab something for lunch here. I decide to share their menu for others not realizing this! Recently heard they have Doordash also.
I have had many positive interactions with baristas at this coffee shop! And the coffee is quite good! Most recently, however, they have cut their hours and have hired some help that really struggles to speak or comprehend anything, and do not seem to know how to make the drinks on the menu. It was a very unsettling experience! I hope this isn't the new norm there! I love to support local businesses, but this will make it tough to return.
My first time there. The staff was friendly and the food was good. They were super nice and didn't tell us they were closed and stayed until we left almost an hour after closing. My friends and I felt so awful for doing that and want to thank them for being kind and doing that when they didn't have to and could have asked us to leave and we wouldn't have minded! Ill be back again!
$5 for instant Nestlé hot chocolate poured over water (not even stirred) is straight up robbery. If I wanted instant hot chocolate I would’ve just went to Walmart, bought whipped cream too, and it still would’ve been cheaper and tasted better. Giving 2 stars as their espresso is quality.
I came here 4 days with 3 different baristas and my drink was messed up. The gentlemen barista put peppermint instead of vanilla flavor in my hot coffee, fixed it but I was charged for a latte - rather than a hot coffee. The second day I ordered a hot coffee from another barista. She but some powder in a cup and poured hot water. Which I never seen- it’s tasted like Hot chocolate (I had ordered a hot coffee before and don’t recall a powder). I came in the next day ordered an americano instead - to make sure I wasn’t getting powdered coffee, the drink was warm. Came the next day with a different barista (very sweet and not her fault) and ordered and americano and it was cold cold. I think the machines are broken. I got water was added but then I just had like a watery drink.
Rich, bold, coffee without the bitterness. The lattes are smooth and creamy, and the combination of the coffee and milk negates the need to make it too sweet. It’s one of the few places I enjoy going to that makes it better than I make it at home.
