Anchor & Anvil Coffee Bar

Neighborhood. A coffee klatch place if there ever was one! What a great walkable neighborhood friendly place! And the coffee is good too. I saw men friends groups, moms, kids, solo folk on computers, and a whole slice of life at A&A. I think my favorite thing was the comfort of the location, I felt at home in a strange place.

This is a comfy coffee house with excellent coffee and a chill atmosphere. The cafe is spacious with areas to fit whatever your coffee house mission may be. There are couches and big comfy chairs to lounge in with a book, window seats for a quick coffee break, a table and chair section for doing homework, even lawn chairs outside for those nice weather days.

Pros: Great coffee, yummy donuts, good ambiance, cute neighborhood.

Cons: I’ve never in my whole life had such rude baristas. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt but the staff was laughing and joking in the back then acted incredibly inconvenienced when I walked in. The person at the register rolled their eyes when I said I’d need a minute to decide and rolled their eyes again when I ordered. I got blank faces when I said thank you and have a nice day. I cannot emphasize enough how put off I was. Other reviewers must have met completely different staff than me because the folks who served me were just plain rude.

It’s on me that I selected the wrong location, leaving me to drive out of the way…but ok google states curbside pick up…ok perfect…or not…after order was placed it noted (on toast) that curbside was no longer available. Ok so I get there, parking was readily available. I go in and my order is not ready. I also ordered a large and I have a feeling I was given the wrong size, I had no time to request the change….def not worth the $6.00

I would recommend trying Anchor & Anvil out on a Saturday morning for their donut specials. Their drip coffee is always great and tastes fresh too!

This local landmark has become a favorite of mine in the last several months. They're doling out not just finest coffees and teas, but Pittsburgh favorites like Oram's donuts and Millie's ice cream. Thanks for being such a strong support to your community!

This is a great coffee shop. A large variety of seating. It's quiet in there. So it's nice for a good sit with a good friend. Every drink I have ordered is really good. On Saturdays, they have amazing donuts.

Always a great atmosphere- relaxing and plenty of space to work or hang out. I meet clients here a lot, and there’s always plenty of space.

Great coffee shop to stop in and work for a few hours. Also have a nice selection for quick breakfast or lunch.

Wonderful baked goods, made on-site, including scones and toffee. Yum!! Good chai with alternate milk choices.
