River Road Coffeehouse - On the Square

Yummmm!!! So many delicious options. I had 2 coffee beverages and both were great! Also loved the feel, including the poll questions for staff and guests and the bulletin board. Will definitely go back to try their gluten free goodies sometime!

Super fun menu selections. I had a Campfire Mocha and a Blueberry Muffin. First time visit to the city and really enjoyed spending a free hour in this shop.

River Road Coffeehouse is located in historic downtown Newark. They offer hot and iced beverages as well as sandwiches and bagels. I ordered a chicken salad on a croissant. The chicken salad has nice chunks of chicken, onions, and almond slivers. My coffee was the house medium blend.

Good place to enjoy a cup of coffee. Some choices for eating breakfast foods.

Super cool little hole in the wall joint... super clean and friendly staff. Found this when traveling thru... recommend to everyone

I dont think i will be returning. They changed the hours to closing at 3pm and put a tiny piece of paper that says today's hours to the far right on the door. But the big lettering on the glass door still says open till 7pm. They did not inform us of these new hour when getting our drinks. Instead waited till 10min till to shout to everyone that they close in 10 min. They need to put the hours for every day large enough and clearly for everyone to see and read specifically over the old hours. We were not the only customers unaware of these changes because you don't see the tiny paper. You see the big hours on the door first. People were still trying to come in.

Never stop here my first time staff was great had a red eye coffee it tasted great but it so hot that the bottom of cup is leaking
Had egg sandwich it was slightly burnt on top and like all food now days was premade and put in toaster oven I miss the old days when food was cooked to order really how long does it take to cook a real egg

We sat outside on the patio facing the square. The food was satisfying after a walk. The decor was a little hipster but also showcased the natural brick of the structure. Will definitely go again. Great for meetups, meetings, or just people watching.

Great location and always parking available in the rear of the building. The staff at this location are always friendly and helpful. The coffee is great as are the cold drinks and pastries.

The atmosphere is awesome! If I was still in college I would go there to study.
