Just what we were looking for on a cold, rainy day day exploring the area.
Great homemade soup & coffee!

Great coffeeshop in the heart of Wade oval that has all your standard drinks and some pastries. There's plenty of seating between the two floors to find a place to read or do a little work. Don't expect any decor, though. The inside reads a little dorm rooms meets yard sale in my opinion.

An older fashioned coffee house that gives a cozy domestic feel that most chain stores lack. Their coffee is excellent and they offer a variety of foods, not just pastries, and prices are reasonable. My only qualm is that their hours can be unpredictable outside of the school season so check their Facebook page, not their website.

My husband and I walked from the Glidden House since it was so close.
He had tuna salad, I had chicken salad. The chicken salad was terribly bland, not enough mayonnaise in it to even hold it together. More bread than actual chicken salad. Very disappointed. If you're a student it's a nice quiet place to study and drink coffee or tea.

Very aged (but quiet and relaxed, at least when I was here) atmosphere and they seem to prefer cash, as I think the barista was annoyed that I used credit card to pay. Not much of a breakfast selection unless you want diabetes. The biscuit would probably have been better if not soggy. The coffee is pretty good. Service was not the best - barista was condescending because I wasn't able to regurgitate my order in half a second without looking twice at the menu. I'd guess there are a lot of regulars that order the same thing every visit. Perhaps that's not the best way to drum up new business.

This great "little" coffee spot has a very good selection of coffee drinks, and a full bakery case to boot! Try the blueberry scones or cinnamon wheels, and don't miss their daily specials menu. They also have a nice cold sandwich and salad selection for lunch!

This remains one of my favorite coffee shops in Cleveland and certainly in University Circle. I arrived early to a meeting with a friend and took the time to work on some web development. Upstairs has a nice study room which is meant to be quite, a 2 person private room, and two general study and chatting rooms. Wifi upstairs can be a bit slow, but the router is on the 1st floor near the back of the building (front of building at top floor therefore has some issues). Downstairs I had no connection issues.
I ordered a Marshmallow Mocha and white chocolate raspberry scone; both were excellent. Music at the shop was enjoyable (over speakers) and was a great place to have a conversation.

While the atmosphere is quaint, the outdoor seating lovely, and the staff friendly, the food did not meet my expectations. The Mac and cheese comes with a ‘daily vegetable’ so I was disappointed to see a smattering of vegetables from what looks like a frozen mix. The Mac and cheese was microwaved, which resulted in a cold center. Overall, come for an afternoon coffee and to enjoy the environment, not the food.

Coffee quality is about average to good. The to go cups are small and made from styrofoam which does bother some. On the up side it is a big and unique coffee house (not coffee shop) where many from CWRU gather to talk and others go to work or study. Outdoor seats are available to in good weather. The location is excellently placed within the intersection of a wonderful residential neighborhood adjacent to campus and close to Cleveland’s art museum and botanical gardens. The biscottis at this shop are very large.

A wonderful coffee house designed architecturally similar to the neighboring Glidden house with wooden tables and floor. This is a lovely place to sit and have coffee while finishing work. It is quiet the way these places should be unlike the chaotic and loud environments in starbucks and co. A nice old fashioned escape where you'll actually get work done as everyone around you is doing that.
