Folks Café

I started going to this lovely coffee shop years ago when I taught school at nearby New Hanover High School. Juan and Tammy Pacini welcomed me and my students every time, with smiles, fresh coffee, and treats that fortified us through poetry readings and sing-alongs.

Since retiring, I come to this coffee shop five mornings a week. The coffee beans are organic, Fair Traded, and roasted in small batches of one pound or less everyday. The excellent iced coffee is made with coffee ice cubes, a rarity! The standard sandwich menu is excellent, and the specials, usually was soup, change daily. Everything is made from scratch right there on the spot.

The owners are from Argentina and Ecuador, and many of the special sandwiches have an Argentinian or Ecuadorian flare. These folks are great contributors to the community, and their shop is an anchor, a beacon, and home to many locals. Having said that, they welcome outsiders with open arms! You will walk away feeling as if you are special.

It’s my birthday and I get to start it off by getting coffee And a muffin here!! And it was delicious. The owner was sooooo friendly. Open for COVID. You can eat outside which is awesome. They have this adorable canopy. Worth a drive. ☺️

This place has great coffee and food, and the owners are the kindest people you would ever want to meet. Even the other customers are friendly. We have been here a dozen times and are always impressed!

Coolest little coffee shop and cafe ever. Great service, great food and even better coffee. Everything is roasted, ground, baked, grilled, etc right on site. Don't miss this gem while you're in Wilmington.

Folks Cafe is a hidden gem. Extremely welcoming. The coffee is roasted on site and the empanadas are the best I have ever had.

Amazing and we will be back when we are in the area for sure! My iced latte had coffee Ice cubes!!! Amazing. Food was excellent. Staff was even better and made us feel right at home. Thanks for a great experience.

The best food, coffee, and people you could ask for. The folks in this establishment are the perfect amount of welcoming and kind, genuine would be an appropriate word. Every time I come to this place I have one of the best restaurant/coffee shop experiences possible. You rule Folks!

Really good cappuccino, very hospitable, friendly service, good food, comfortable patio shaded by trees & awnings.

Super friendly staff and atmosphere! My in-laws are one of their daily regulars and everyone there couldn't be nicer. Makes you feel like family!
