Quarter Moon Books & Gifts

It is a lovely little bookstore/gift shop which I visited in May of 2012. A perfect vacation spot to shop. The book selection was nice and they even have some bargain or used books to sell. Fun, creative gifts were available as well as some great Quarter Moon mugs from Daneen Pottery.

Our visits to Topsail always include visits to Quarter Moon. We love the wine bar and never miss the weekend outside music events!

This is the kind of place that seems to be having an identity crisis, but it works. I was not too sure if I was walking into a bar, a bookstore, or a coffee shop; but by the end of the night I had made a purchase from all three. The live music out on the patio was excellent and kept me there a lot longer then I had expected when I first walked in.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I was publicly humiliated for petting the owners cat. It was sitting on a window bench inside the store and she yelled at me saying it was going to scratch me in my face. Then proceeded to talk about me to other customers loud enough for me to hear. If the cat scratches, why is it in your store? And the way she handled the situation was not professional. They made me very uncomfortable. I felt very unwanted and I will not be returning. So thanks for nothing but a sugared down iced coffee.

Great place to get a book or a drink and enjoy some live music

Always enjoy visiting this shop and having a coffee when in the island. Love the cat that's always there. Cutest thing ever. Great selection of coffees and wines.

Very quaint and great tasting coffee drinks and wine. The clothes and book section was impressive for the size of the store.

Quarter Moon is the epitome of the little beach bookstore! A careful selection of sand friendly reading, lots of local authors and local interest titles, and they also carry gifts from local artists and craftsman--jewelry, clothing, etc. There is wifi on the premises, coffee behind the counter, a lovely little outdoor deck and garden, and after 5 pm it becomes a wine bar. You might not even bother going to the beach.

This is the incredibly shrinking bookstore. At this point it isn't even a cresent moon. They need to change the name to The Quarter Moon Coffee and Drink Stop. Nice people but lots of people drive 15 miles down the island for books. Better go to the dollar store if looking for books.
