We ordered the chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits eggs benny and the scotch eggs. Everything was amazing, the food came out quickly and we didn’t even leave a crumb behind.

It was solid. Always increase rating at any place that offers turkey sausage. They didn't seem to increase pricing like other places have, so the cost/portion ratio was very good. Very good quality, home made corned beef hash. Many veggies and healthy choices (not that I made any). Fancy coffee options which is really beneficial if you are into fancy coffee. Also has a whole parking garage right behind it, which really helps keep traffic up, which in turn keeps the food flowing and fresh. All signs point to a return trip.

The food was awful. The waffle was tough and had no flavor. The waitress never checked on us until we had already pushed our plates away. We were the only table in the place except for one person sitting at the counter. We received a turkey sandwich and not a club as we ordered. The potatoes have a strange flavor. We noticed a customer who left before us left her plate 90% intact. She couldn't eat her food.
Our receipt shows the waitress entered our order into the system at 12:57 p.m., The place closes at 2:00. We were a party of two that ordered one sandwich and one breakfast. They were so busy doing all their side work that they couldn't be bothered with the customer in the building. We left at 1:30. If the waitress is reading this, she lost a $20 tip.

Good food, fresh everything and the potatoes were fried to a good crisp. All of the food was cooked perfectly and the prices weren’t bad for what you get.
Also, offers a lot of drink options for mimosas and coffee liquors. It wasn’t crazy busy on Saturday morning.
The only problem we had was that it took a really long time to get any drinks and two of us never got our waters or one of the drinks.

Scotch eggs don't need aioli, they need sausage with some flavor, and grits should be cooked until velvety, not watery. The pecan pie was thin and laughably small, there's many better options for breakfast, we will not be returning.

This is my "go to" breakfast spot when I am down from West Virginia. I never miss when I am enjoying a weekend getaway. Great food! Great service!

Great food.
The bbq turkey and bacon croissant might be my favorite sandwich anywhere.
Incredible service.
Especially for a group of servers who move constantly, balancing large numbers of customers and a menu with lots of options to throw kinks in the process. Somehow they seem to stay right on top of things in ways I've rarely seen as a lifelong member of the restaurant industry.
An absolute gem.

Interesting chicken and waffles
Sun Up Cafe was the only place I found that I really wanted to checkout for breakfast while in Mooresville that was close-ish to our hotel.
I got the classic french toast, bacon, and scrambled eggs with cheese. The food was nothing I would absolutely have to have again but it was good and it was faster than most other breakfast places I have been to. My cheese wasn't melted on the eggs. I didn't even think about asking for the cheese to be melted since 95% of the time I order scrambled eggs with cheese, the cheese is always melted in the eggs mixed. Just keep that in mind if you like the cheese melted like I do. You would just need to ask for it to be melted.
If I am ever in town again, I would come back and try something a bit different. Perhaps their doughnut holes, pancakes and their bakery items later in the day.
My boyfriend got the chicken & waffles. The chicken was awesome. They were soaked in buttermilk and fried. They didn't exactly go with the waffle that was finished with their maple bourbon butter sauce....the combo did not go great for him since the chicken actually tasted like it had been seasoned with some type of Italian seasoning. I didn't mind the combo. I liked it but he just ate it separate so that worked too.
We had great service. This place was very fast too. On their menu they even say that it is in a timely manner. You really have to follow up with that if you put it on your menu at the top, and they did. I appreciated that since we were on a deadline of when we had to leave.
Their breakfast is on the average pricing level I would say out of all the places I have been to breakfast at.
Side note: The bakery here was not staffed this early in the morning. The server said she could figure it out probably but I told her not to worry about it as to not cause any extra work for her.

Place had many open tables- and many workers- told a 20 minute wait but we can sit at bar and eat. Sat at bar ( 3 workers behind bar) waited 10 minutes and never received a smile a nod or any acknowledgement that we were there. So we left.
