Ingenious Coffee Roasters

Went there today because I was in Marion for my son taking the ACT test at the local high school. Having a few hours to kill, I spoke to another parent who heard that this was a good coffee place.

Once she told me they were a ROASTER, I had to check into it and I was NOT DISAPPOINTED.

A nice inventory of green beans and a few which were already roasted.

I've been enjoying fresh roasted coffee for going on 40 years now, so I got into coffee LONG BEFORE anyone had heard of Starbucks outside Seattle.

I had a hankering for some peaberry and a few places I checked in Charlotte didn't carry them, but focused on flavored coffees (which I detest).

Anyway, I went there and they had a Brazilian Peaberry which I wanted to try, and so sampled, but decided on a pour-over cup of Bali Blue Moon.

The Bali coffee was very flavorful so I was happy with that choice.

I ended up buying two small sample bags (2 oz) of the Bali and Brazilian Peaberry so I could try them at home the way I usually do my coffee (a Mr. Clever pourover).

Looking forward to it.

I just wish they had more sample sizes (maybe 4-8 oz.) and offered whole bean.

I am coming back to Marion in two weeks and will probably visit again to see what they have and perhaps stock up a bit more.

It is also a nice place to just sit back, chill, and have coffee. And the lady at the counter did a great job answering questions and preparing my brew.

A great coffee shop. Outstanding service. Dog friendly. Came in at 3pm Wednesday 8/24/22. Writing as we sip our drinks with our pupper. Don't miss the opportunity to stop by and have a great coffee drink.

My favorite coffee spot east of Asheville. Great casual ambience, occasional live music and that small town vibe and delicious coffee, which you just don't get from that Seattle based coffeeshop.

Love this place! Good espresso and extremely friendly staff. What more do you need from a roaster? They supply businesses all over the south with their beans.

This local spot is awesome. My business partner and I stopped in today to work on some projects. The nice man making all the deliciousness behind the corner brought over 2 beautifully layered espresso shots for us. They were super tasty. We appreciate your hospitality and we will definitely be coming back for more and more

I've grown up in this town, and this shop owner has been a staple here through most of my teen years. There's always been a warm, small town feel when you walk into the shop. Anyone that works there greets you with a smile and a nice hello! Stop by here for a great hot coffee and warming smiles!

I was visiting Marion, kind of in the mood for a sweet, cool coffee drink. I stumbled across Ingenious, and decided to get just a regular iced coffee because I wanted to taste the coffee. I'm so glad I did! I got a cold brew, and it was so delicious. Wonderful nutty flavors, you can tell they take roasting seriously to bring out the best flavors. Richard helped me at the bar, he was so nice! Every one I talked to in there was very nice, and the place had a great energy. Highly recommended!

We stopped by on a rainy day, craving some tea and it did not disappoint! The smell alone as you walk in the door was fantastic. My husband got a regular English breakfast tea, I got a chai that was absolutely delicious and hit the spot. Definitely worth a visit!

Absolutely love this place! Met with a co-worker for a meeting here and the coffee was delicious! An amazing banana nut muffin (even warmed up for me)! Beautiful atmosphere, and makes me feel like I can actually get work done instead of working from home. 100% love this place.

Loved the coffee here! Such a great roaster. Smells amazing once you come in the door. They roast and bag everything right on site. It’s all fresh. The espresso was spot on, a blend of three different beans made a flavourful, medium bodied shot. I had an excellent pour over as well, the Ethiopian Sidamo. Bright without being overly acidic.
Super friendly service too. Got some hiking advice while talking to the barista.
