Higher Grounds - Coffee & Ice Cream

Ice cream options are good. If your getting a milkshake get a spoon with it because the straws are tiny.

The caramel frappe was amazing and so was the iced chai latte. Next time we'll try the ice cream.

Beatuful, inside and out. So nice to have someplace wonderful to go to relax and enjoy a coffee or simple treat, right around the corner from home! So terrific to see our Colington community growing in rhis way.

The coffee and the service are out of this world. All the local charm of a true coffee house, with all the options of a barista bar. Did I mention they have milkshakes and ice cream too?!

The ice cream is Hershey's, so they lose a point for lack of homemade, but the employees are delightful, the place is clean and interesting (they have a huge deck, underneath of which are a bevy of hammocks, swinging chairs, and other suspended seating), and upon request they made me something that I'm dubbing the 'mocha mudslide': one scoop of the coffee/chocolate ice cream plus one shot of espresso. YUM!

Nice and friendly staff. Coffee and espresso are spot on. I actually got a caffeine buzz off of their black eye. That's saying something with all the caffeine I drink. There's also ice cream and shakes for the kids

Great location, will give you the chance to see parts of OBX you normally don't. Great coffee, ice cream and homemade muffins. Got the t-shirt.

Amazing coffee and fantastic view of the sound. The owner is super friendly. Beautiful place to stop and grab a coffee and relax.
