It's been over a decade since I went to Muddy's. There was a hotdog shop owned by Brian Graf that closed down in that spot and Muddy's opened. I wasn't a coffee drinker till I had their ice java....
Eventually I started to grab 2 larges before work, because I would down the first one before I got to work at my shop on New River, only 5 minutes away. It was THE BEST sweet coffee drink I ever had.
Some days I would notice the owner, a retired Marine, wasn't there. I'd ask, for his wife to reply that he was at home roasting the beans. When he WAS there, he'd be reading coffee magazines when there was downtime. The guy was COMMITTED to making coffee That dedication got me to try normal coffee, and now I'm an addict... All because of him.
One day the wife and I were going to Wilmington and I HAD to have an ice java, but it being the weekend, I decided to get a sandwich since they used Boar's Head meats, which I knew of. The owner's wife asked me all kinds of questions, about meats, cheeses, condiments(mustard), which type of mustard(spicy, tangy, sweet, etc), which specific type of sweet mustard(honey, honey dijon) etc, then lightly buttered this wonderful thick, porous bread, then toasted it. 5 minutes later, I have a sandwich, and TO THIS DAY I haven't had another that was it's equal.
Sure, I've had some with the same meat, or cheese, or mustard, but not with all the same high quality ingredients and most importantly, the dedication to making something greater than the sum of its parts, and THAT'S what makes them better than the rest.
To this day, I tell people about the best coffee and sandwich I've ever had. It's why I'm leaving this review; because I was telling someone about it and got nostalgic and decided to look the place up, only to find out that it's still going. I can't say how it is now, but I damned sure remember how it was.

Their food is OK the coffee is good. The area is clean but they do not have free WiFi so not a full coffee shop. We will be going to Starbucks just down the street to have a all around better place to have coffee, food and free WiFi to get some work done.

I absolutely love this place!! Both food and drinks are amazing. Pricing is grrat and the staff is super friendly. Muddys is a family owned and ran spot and you can tell as this is a down home welcoming place!! Highly recommend it here.

The BEST coffee place and also THE BEST sandwiches in NC and I would even say arguably the best cafe I've ever been to. I HIGHLY Recommend!

A great little spot close to town as well as New River. It's in the Food Lion parking lot. They have great fresh coffee, fresh food as well as whole beans for you to take home. Prices are fair and it's locally owned!

Family owned and operated. I was driving thru Jville and was not feeling like fast food. I found this little gem on yelp. I picked Muddy's because it was open at 3:30pm, not fast food and on my route. Glad I did. The egg salad on rye was pretty good. I chose the pasta salad as my side. Good as well. Great value $7 with a drink. I will definitely return to try the reuben but will likely get it to go.
