Hwy 42 cafe & Hershey’s Ice Cream

Delicious! Stopped in just because we saw ‘coffee shop’ on the store sign! We got a Medium Iced Mocha Latte and a Medium Iced Mocha Macchiato. Dairy free - made with almond milk, no whip. Very friendly and delicious!

Number one this place has a sanitation score of 99!!! Everyone was super friendly and our food was ready in less than 5 minutes! Donuts, croissants,breakfast sandwiches and iced coffee are what caught my eye here but we saw that they do rolled icecream too that we will be back to try! I had the iced salted Caramel macchiato and western breakfast croissant and my daughter had the bacon egg and cheese everything bagel with a mango dragonfruit smoothie

So glad I found this amazing place! Everything was delicious. I wish I could have tried the rolled ice cream too. All the staff was so very kind and even helped with recommendations. Can't wait to go back and try the different sandwiches!

Wonderful little shop of great treats and sandwiches. Always come for the huge portions of ice cream, but today we tried their breakfast and it did not disappoint. ALL treats, goodies, bagels, etc. are homemade and delicious.

Me and my husband love this place. We always go on Sundays before church. Customer service is excellent & they’re quick. Food & coffee are delicious. 10/10 recommend.

Love highway 42 cafe!!!!! They always have the best lattes and bagel sandwiches. I haven’t tried their lunch yet but I’m sure it’s amazing!!!! My fiancé and I get coffee and food here atleast every other weekend ☺️

I thought having a place in Johnston County with rolled ice cream would be great so I could avoid going to Raleigh for it. Drove 30 minutes to get rolled ice cream. They close at 9 on the weekends. I arrived at 8:05 PM and was informed that they quit making rolled ice cream an hour before they close. No exceptions whatsoever, even though they failed to make people aware on their website. No notice whatsoever on their website. You only see the sign when you look at the menu INSIDE of the store.

I now see I’m not the first (or probably last) to complain about this, but they clearly do no care seeing that the other review regarding this is from 3 months ago - and nothing has changed since. I live 4 hours away and really hate that I drove an extra 30 minutes one way for no reason.

I went in with my boyfriend and his brother. The girl there was decently nice. My problem was my drink. I got a dirty chai. The chai in it burned my throat super badly and made me feel sick. It was nothing to do with them, I just didn’t like it and requested a refund. I asked for a refund, but the man was super rude about it. I was very polite, as I just wanted a refund. Again, up until that point, it was nothing to do with the employees. It was just bad service all around. I work in a coffee shop. People get chai all of the time. That was not regular chai. I was not upset or anything until they were so seemingly rude.

The best bagel in town! Every time i’ve been here whether for breakfast, or ice cream, i’m always impressed. Quick service! Kind people! Definitely a place worth visiting.
